Its been 60 years since I worked for Chris, I still have fond memories of him,
Though I only worked for him for 2 1/2 yrs. He is one of 3 people that had a profound effect on my life. I will be forever grateful, for the positive influence he was.

I cannot tell you how many times I have remembered Chris, his smile or words of encouragement meant so much to me as I was working for him. (64-67) At times I felt like he was the only adult in my life that I could trust or talk to. Steve Clegg

I worked forChris from 1964-67, started as dishwasher and became eventually became a cook. He taught me that the true reward for good hard work was more good hard work. He was truly a man to be respected admired, and trusted.

I have so many great memories of my childhood as your neighbor on Pine St. I so enjoyed going to the restaurant. I even remember one time when mom asked me to walk all the way down there and back as she wanted one of Chris' hamburgers. With my deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you on your loss.

I worked for Chris at the restaurant in the 60's. He taught me a work ethic that I used all throughout my working life. With Chris, you either gave 100% or you went home. It was truly a great life lesson taught by a truly nice man. My deepest sympathies to then entire Petrow family.

Family; Verys sorry for your loss. My brother Carl Flemmer and Chris did walk from Central High home for many a year together. Ken Harmon always did like to see Chris when we stopped in for a sandwich. Now with the old gang in the front in the mornings gone or broke up it does not seem the same to not see Chris and Teddy in the rear as they were for so many. Very hard to think of the days gone past

I am so sorry to hear of this loss. Petrow's was a weekly treat for my parents, Vi and Virg Frederick, who have both passed away; on Saturday evenings they always attended Mass at Holy Cross Church, then had dinner at Petrow's. I, also, have enjoyed many, many meals and ice cream there. Chris and Nick were always so friendly and we, as customers, loved the place. My sympathy to the family.

My dad just informed me of this saddening news. I am deeply sorry for the loss of my Uncle Chris, and I know that he is now smiling down on all of us from Heaven-- free of pain, and free of struggle. He is happy and I know we will all be there with him someday- ready for a great conversation as usual :) The memories of my Uncle Chris I will forever cherish- and I will keep everyone in my prayers through this mourning time. Much love, Kristin.
