We were very sad to hear the loss of Fr. David. We met him about 20 years ago while he was at Creighton University Retreat Center. The day we met him, he looked like a groundskeeper in jeans and T-shirt. He seemed more of a Franciscan priest than a Jesuit! He led a wonderful retreat for the deacons and wives. Loved his stories and brought scripture alive. May he rest in peace.

Did not expect this. A truly good priest and spiritual director. David helped get me through a really difficult time in my life. I will miss him. Cannot make the services, but will offer Masses for him and keep his parishioners and family in my prayers.

Fr Smith was one of the kindest men I have ever known. We used to joke that his demeanor was almost enough for me to become Catholic! He was a valued asset to his community and will be deeply missed.
