Rex Gene "Skip" Sorenson

Rex Gene "Skip" Sorenson, born June 12, 1961, in Harlan, Iowa, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 64.

Skip was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. His life was marked by his unwavering love for his family and his passion for living life to the fullest. He cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife, Carrie Sorenson (Little), and their children: Ryan; Kylie and her husband, Dakota, along with their son, Hunter; Mollie and her husband, Casey, and their children, Kinsley and Charlie; Cami; and Brielle. Skip's joy was evident in the laughter he shared with his family and his enthusiastic support of his children's sporting endeavors. He had a unique ability to make those around him smile through his goofy, kind-hearted nature.

Professionally, Skip served as the Chief Financial Officer for Mike Thompson's RV, where his dedication and work ethic were highly regarded. Outside of work, he found great pleasure in playing golf, a game he loved dearly. His adventures often took him to the vibrant tables of Las Vegas, where he enjoyed the thrill of blackjack. An annual trip to Newport Beach was a cherished tradition, providing him with treasured memories year after year.

Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Rex Gene Sorenson and Margaret Colleen Miller. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, brother, sisters, and extended family, all of whom were central to his life and happiness.

Services to honor and celebrate Skip's life will be held on February 22, 2026, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Porter's Neck Country Club. Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the fond memories of a man who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Skip Sorenson will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
