George Venteicher Obituary

Venteicher, George William, II

August 11, 1936 - March 4, 2022

George William Venteicher II, age 85, died on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at his Omaha home surrounded by family. George was born in Carroll, IA on August 11, 1936 to Leone Venteicher and George Venteicher I. He graduated from Creighton University Law School in 1962. George Venteicher II served as an Assistant Attorney General of Nebraska from 1964 to 1967. He established a profitable legal firm focusing on real estate development. He became a successful investor, leading to various real estate partnerships and corporations. He built millions of square feet of residential and commercial space in Nebraska, Iowa, and Arizona over 25 years. His last career was as President and CEO of KVI Associates, an Omaha-based real estate company. He was on the Board of Directors at Bellevue University, the Board of Trustees at College Preparatory School Brownell-Talbot in Omaha from 1984-1994. He was on the President's Council and took part in the Campaign Positioning Study in 2003. He gave significant insight and advice to support East Campus expansion. George and his wife Susan, are memorialized by the brick mall pathway that connects essential parts of Creighton's campus and runs from Morrison Stadium to 20th Street. George's professional expertise, philanthropy, and commitment have benefited many organizations. George has supported several programs' and facilities' development initiatives. "I liked Bellevue University because of its mission and because it serves a special niche—the second-chance students and others who deserve an opportunity," he said. "It has a definite place, and the community benefits from it. If it weren't here, a lot of those students wouldn't be getting their education, and education is really important." The Venteicher Wellness Center, which was constructed in 2003 on the main campus in Bellevue, was made possible by George and Susan. George received an honorary Doctor of Commerce Degree from Bellevue University in 2007 to recognize his professional successes, generosity, and humanitarian service. George was a devoted father and an ambitious man. He enjoyed skiing in Park City, Utah, playing tennis in Scottsdale, Arizona, and smoking cigars in Destin, Florida. But the thing he loved the most was spending time with his family. He was a problem-solver in the workplace and at home, often taking on complex tasks but always making it look easy. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

Preceded in death by mother, Leone Venteicher; father, George Venteicher I; brother, Franklin Venteicher; and grandson, Sebastian Dingman.

Survived by his wife of 29 years, Susan Venteicher; brother, Art Venteicher (Shelly); son, George "GW" Venteicher III; daughter, Heidi Venteicher-Dingman (Richard); step-sons, Brian Napp (Lisa), and Bob Napp (Beth); and grandchildren: Maddaline Atterberry (Nicholas Atterberry), Clarence-George "Andrew" Klinger, Hayleigh Napp, Leone Klinger, Kamryn Napp, George "Brock" Venteicher IV, Joshua Napp, Samuel Dingman, and LillyAnna Dingman.

George was a fine man and a fun man. I will always remember in the mid 1970´s. He represented GE credit. I was knee deep in debt to them. I couldn´t pay but had dreams and hopes of getting thru the mess I found myself in. I went to see george and he believed in me and kept his client at bay which gave me the time I desperately needed to work myself out of debt. I will always think fondly of george. And appreciation of george May his memory be a blessing. I know it will be for me. And I will always when in omaha I will go frequently to Jericho´s on 117 and dodge. Sit in George´s booth and feel a connection to a very dear and fine man. Sincerely. Tom fellman
