Linda Lou (Olsen) Venteicher, 80, of Carroll, passed away on March 6th, 2024 in Carroll, Iowa.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 at St. Lawrence Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be provided by Jane Heithoff. Lectors will be Linda's grandchildren: Taylor Venteicher, Jacey Mesch, and Emily Venteicher Gift Bearers will be Linda's grandchildren: Jessica Gosch, Taylor Venteicher, Jacey Mesch, Elizabeth Venteicher, Emily Venteicher, and Benjamin Venteicher. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll.
Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, and online condolences may be left for Linda's family at www.sharpfuneral.com.
Linda was born in Gray, Iowa to Arlie and June (Swart) Olsen on November 28, 1943. She graduated from Carroll High School. She married Elmer Venteicher on July 6, 1964 in Carroll. Linda was proud to be a housewife and caregiver for her children. She was actively involved in her children's lives and volunteered to help with many of their activities, such as Boy/Girl Scout leader, catechism instructor, and classroom helper. As her children got older, Linda worked for many years at JCPenney, New Hope Gift Shop, and Christopher Banks. She enjoyed her volunteer activities including at: blood drives, Carroll County Hospice, St. Anthony's Gift Shop, and other opportunities within the St. Lawrence parish. Linda also loved being a grandmother, spending time with and spoiling the grandchildren whenever she had the chance.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Arlie and June Olsen, siblings: William Olsen, Thomas Olsen, Judy Fredricksen and Margo Murray as well as an infant daughter, Christine.
Linda is survived by her husband, Elmer, children Christopher (Sheila), Kimberly, and Brian (Colette). Grandchildren, Jessica Gosch, Taylor (Taylor Marie) Venteicher, Jacey (Glendon) Mesch, Elizabeth, Emily and Benjamin Venteicher, great-grandchildren, Sloane and Brooks Venteicher and Harley Mesch, siblings and siblings-in-law, Lois Krueger, Alice (Tom) Maron, Kenneth (Jonnie) Olsen and Frank Olsen.
Linda's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Gentiva Hospice and Journey Senior Services.
