Jerry Venteicher, 87, of Scranton, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 at Addington Place Assisted Living in Carroll.
Jerry, the second oldest of 6 boys, was born on August 7, 1934, at Willey, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Brincks) Venteicher. He grew up in the Willey area where he attended St. Joseph's Catholic School. On May 21, 1955 Jerry was united in marriage to Eunice Hoffman at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dedham, Iowa. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Scranton. Jerry started farming and raising cattle and hogs. Jerry was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Scranton until it closed.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eunice. He is also survived by his children: Steve Venteicher (fiancé Michelle Earlywine) of Woodward, Jean (Sherwood) Hoyle of Scranton, Carole Hanson of Waco, TX, Randy Venteicher of Scranton, Terry Venteicher of Grimes. Also survived by his son in law Jeff Nicoll, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his brother Elmer (Linda) Venteicher, sister in laws: Ruth Naberhaus, Edith Hoffman, Twilla Hoffman, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Daughter Lori Nicoll, infant son James, Granddaughter Shayla Venteicher, parents in law, Henry and Katherine Hoffman, his brothers Raymond Venteicher, Ralph Venteicher, Merle Venteicher, Don Venteicher, brother in laws Gene Naberhaus, Maurice Hoffman, Dan Hoffman, Ken Nelson Sister in laws Shirley Nelson, Barb Venteicher, Diane Venteicher, Phyllis Venteicher.
Due to the current rates of Covid-19 transmission, the family has chosen that a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Online condolences may be left for Jerry's family at www.sharpfuneral.com
