Ritter, Harold Ray

December 11, 1927 - October 27, 2021

Harold Ray Ritter, son of Charles Rudolph Ritter and Esther Pauline Rodehorst Ritter, was born on December 11, 1927 and passed away on October 27, 2021 at Hillcrest Millard. Harold grew up on the family farm south of Pleasanton, NE. He attended school at Sunflower Grade School and Pleasanton High School. He served in the U.S. Army in the Occupation Forces of Japan following World War II. He was married to Elizabeth Marie One, and they were the parents of six children, Bruce Rodney, Brenda Rae, Billy Reese, Bradley Rodger, Beth Rene and Barbara Rochelle. During his working years Harold was the owner and operator of Ritter Oil Company and Tank Wagon Service of Pleasanton and later worked at Rockwell and Eaton Corporation in Kearney, NE. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Dale Ritter, Mae Ritter Lange and Carrell Ritter. He is survived by sister, Sharon Ritter Sands of Colorado; children, Bruce and Irasema Ritter of Fayetteville AR, Joe and Brenda Ritter Costanza of Friendswood TX, Rev. Bill and Debbie Ritter of Omaha, Brad and Cathy Ritter of Denver CO, Drs. Alan Osborn and Beth Ritter of Omaha, and Todd and Barb Ritter Ibach of Sumner, NE.

SERVICES at Columbus First United Methodist will be on Friday, November 19, at 10:30am and BURIAL will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery at 3pm, with Military Honors. The family suggests memorials to the Nebraska Arbor Day Foundation, or Columbus First United Methodist Church.
