Helene Wasserman Obituary
Age 55
Preceded in death by her father, Jerome, "Jerry" Wasserman; and grandparents, Max and Rena Wasserman, and David and Ida Potash. Survived by mother, Phyllis Wasserman; brothers, Michael (Lisa), Andrew (Christine), and Steven (Tessa); nieces and nephews, Hannah, Talya, Emma, Lacie, Leighton, Max and David; aunt and uncle, Ruth and Merle Potash; and beloved dog Mu Shu. She was a speech pathologist in the Chicago area. She graduated from Westside High School, 1975; University of Missouri, 1979; Northwestern University.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE Friday, November 23, 1pm, Mt. Sinai Cemetery, 78th and Crown Point. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Beth El Synagogue; Nebraska Humane Society, Omaha; or Temple Beth Israel, Skokie, IL. JEWISH FUNERAL HOME 402-556-9392

I went to Northwestern with Helene. We were classmates and neighbors. We became good friends and she showed me many kindnesses during my first winter in Chicago. Years later, when my son was born, she sent him a stuffed clown. He is 17 years old and still has it! I am so sad to hear this news. She and her family are in my prayers.

Gary and I just learned the news today about Helene's passing and are deeply saddened. She was a salon client, a dear person who cared so deeply about many subjects. Most importantly, we will treasure the knowing that she helped so many children and their families. Helene and I held hands for many years of manicures and I would love that she enjoyed vivid colors and expressive self care. Indeed - we will not forget her. We extend our sincere sympathy to family and friends. God Bless.

I met Helene when we got our weekly manicures. She was a bright, lovely individual. I am saddened by her untimely death. I will miss her smiley face.

We will miss Helene's visits to our yard to chat. Helene and MuShu were a very familiar sight walking through our neighborhood and Helene will be missed.

Our family will deeply miss Helene's humor, her playfulness, and her love. Helene gave speech therapy to our twin boys, and each time she walked through the door they would jump with excitement. My visiting brother, after seeing Helene work just a few minutes with my son, said "she's amazing." In a word, that's Helene.

We are very saddened to hear of the tragic loss. Helene would come to our home twice a week for speech therapy.Our kids adored her! We will miss her alot. Our thoughts go out to her family. May we all be comforted among the mourners of zion.
