Randy & I send our most heartfelt condolences to you Jeannie, Lisa & Patrick. It was a complete shock to hear the news about Jake. I remember the day he was born and have always thought of you guys as nephews & nieces, instead of cousins...only because I'm that much older! Either way, we think of you all often. Sending Love & Hugs from Oregon. The service was beautiful!

Our deepest sympathy to the Render family. Our family knew the Renders when Jake and Josh were boys. Jake was my Den Chief when he was in Boy Scouts and my husband, Jerry, was his Scout Master. Our boys, Steve, Tom, Dave and Ed were in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with Jake. May you find peace in your faith and your memories.

I met Jake in college and he was always upbeat, caring and the best friend a person could have. Always ready to give a hand or a hug. My thoughts are with his wife and children who were the greatest joy in his life. You will be greatly missed my friend.

I met Jake while working at H&H Chevrolet. He was such a positive person and very knowledgeable and respectful. I learned a lot from him just about being a good person. You will be greatly missed Jake but I know you will be doing great things in Heaven watching over your family and friends because that is the kind of being you are. I will be keeping your family in my prayers, peace be with you all.

Jake was a great man. We met in college. He was fun, thoughtful and adventurous. He told me once... " I remember qualities of everyone I meet". He would draw on those memories when he needed or missed someone. Jake, I will always remember your fun attitude and caring heart. Rest In Peace, friend !

Jakes has always been one of my favorite people. Always full of warmth, funny stories, self defense techniques, and kindness. He was big in every way from his stature to his personality to his heart. This really sucks a lot and we´ve all lost a wonderful person who added to our lives. All the love to Jeanie and the kids and so many hugs as we wrap you all in love in hopes as a small bit of comfort during this

26 of us graduated from Mount Michael in 1988. The brotherhood we formed in those years cannot be adequately described here. I admired Jake tremendously. He didn't know that; I wish I would have told him. In the years we lived together and in the few times we connected in the years since, I witnessed a man with a particular quality that few have, and I personally have been unable to emulate no matter how hard I try. Jake, more-so than anyone I have ever known, had an amazing ability to be positive despite all challenges set before him. When dealt a bad hand, Jake never got down, Jake never held a grudge, he never said "why me?". He moved beyond it gracefully and went forward with a smile. Not a contrived smile as many of us do, but a genuine smile that said "I love the world around me, and I'm happy to be here". The world has too few people like that, and now it sadly has one less. However, our loss is Heaven's gain. As a Catholic, we know the truth, and that truth is that Jake is not gone. He is where God has called him. He will be there waiting for us when our time comes. God bless you Jake, and may He bless and comfort those that mourn your passing.
