I worked for Jim as a legal secretary for many years. My husband and I miss him very much. We had wonderful time when we went to Las Vegas with Jim and Polo in December of 1994. We have very fond memories of that trip. Rest in peace and thanks for your service to our country.

We include JMD's quote "Memorial Day is the day we repay our debt to all our heroes" in the promotion of our annual Patriotic Parade on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
It was an honor to take him on our Vietnam Combat Veterans Honor Flight on June 6, 2016.

We were honored to have him on our Vietnam Combat Honor Flight. Great guy, great American. Think about him often.
A mutual friend and I still have his contact numbers in our phones, but can't bring ourselves to erase.
A tragic loss for all who called him friend.

My Aunt worked along side of Mr. Davis's Mother at H.U.D. for many years. I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Davis during my tenure as clerical support staff in the City Prosecutor's Office. He was most kind, affable, a true patriot. He was a prince among fellows. This is a tremendous loss for his family, friends, and most certainly the legal community. Everyone will miss his poignant and heartfelt stories about Vietnam that the Omaha World Herald published each year on Memorial Day. I offer his family my sincerest condolences. God be with each of you during this most difficult time. In Christian Love and Deepest Sympathy - Judy Buono

I met Jim in 6-80 while working in Juvenile Court. Then I had many District Court hearings with him .. He was always such a good guy and so friendly and nice to everyone. I will certainly miss seeing Jim around town. My deepest condolences to his family.

My condolences to you. James ran into me in a store many years ago and just struck up a conversation with me not over anything in particular. This encounter stayed with me for 15 years so far because he was genuinely kind to just start talking to a total stranger. It was if he had known me forever...

My deepest sympathy to You and Your daughter, and all of those who loved Jim. He saved my life 45 years ago, and I referred a lot of people to him and he was successful saving their lives also! He is now in heaven, with His Son, the only good that comes out of this. God Bless You All, he will always live in our hearts!
