Janice Swanson Obituary

Janice H. Swanson, age 92, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Born on July 5, 1933, Janice was the daughter of Henrietta and Ernest Wutke. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Karl "Chuck" Swanson; her parents; her brother, Leo Wutke; granddaughter Jenna; and several in-laws: Jack Swanson, Mary Kay Swanson, Patricia Swanson, Bob Miles, Mary Ann (Swanson) Miles, Tom Zwink, and Fern (Swanson) Zwink.

Janice is survived by her loving family: daughter Lynne (Mike) Roh; sons Jack (Paula) Swanson and Joseph Swanson; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th Street, Omaha, NE. A funeral service will follow on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4117 Terrace Drive, Omaha, NE.

In a final act of generosity and commitment to helping others, Janice donated her remains to further medical education. Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
