Jason Schellenberger Obituary

Jason Tobias Schellenberger

February 24, 1967 - July 25, 2025

Jason T. Schellenberger, age 58, passed away surrounded by his loving family.

Jason was the cherished husband of Socrates P. Canete.

Beloved son of the late Richard and Jeanne Marie Schellenberger, and brother to the late David Schellenberger and the late Ray Schellenberger (Clara).

Dear brother to Mark, Donna (Lisa Schmitz), Sandy Palm, Jim (Cheryl) and Peter (William Leakakos).

An irreplaceable and devoted Uncle to Marie Nguyen (John) and Jake Schellenberger (Kendal Fitzpatrick). Jason was a beacon of light to many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; family; and friends alike, he will be greatly missed.

Those who knew him best will always remember his vibrant spirit, wicked sense of humor, and unforgettable presence, which could easily fill a room with laughter and fun. They will remember his passion for spending time with family and friends, including his canine buddies Dexter and Clyde, while enjoying life every step along the way.

Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life on Saturday, August 30th, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Legends Patio Grill & Bar, 6910 No. 102 Circle, Cherry Hills, Omaha.

I worked with Jason over 30 years ago at Bumpers in Omaha, NE. It was my very first bartending job, and I looked up to him in so many ways. Though we lost touch over the years, I carry nothing but great memories from the time we spent together. He had a lasting influence on me, both professionally and personally. My deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace, my friend.

This is hard to write, I was just in contact with him in early July.I worked with Jason at Ladder Now/Seek Now. He was always there to help. He was fun and I have some good memories with him. We were always counting down days to his retirement--which makes this more sad. He´s way too young to be gone.
Praying for Soc and the rest of his family.

I worked with Jason at Gentiva. There truly are no words to express the shock and sadness of this loss. Jason was one of the first people I met at Gentiva, and from the very beginning, he was kind, supportive, and generous with his time. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Condolences to his family.
