Terry Hernandez
November 18, 2008
My name is Terry Hernandez. I used to be Terry Harris. There was a time a LONG LONG time ago when Jeffrey and I dated . . .and were engaged. The last time I saw him was after my first son was born and he bought him a swimming pool. Jeffrey was a very special person. We had so much fun while dating. He was always smiling and kept life QUITE INTERESTING!! I was ALWAYS laughing. We were engaged for a short time . . .long enough to put an announcement in the paper - which I still have. I have tried to find him off and on for years . . .but couldn't. I often wondered how he was doing. It saddens me greatly that he has gone on before I was able to find him again and take time to share what our lives had brought us together. I had always planning on seeing him again. I am so glad to see his life was a real blessing to those around him. That doesn't surprise me.
My brother found Jeffrey's obituary and forwarded it to me. I wish I had found him . . . . I really do . . . my family has talked about him often . . . always w/a smile or laughter.
Jeffrey will always be in my memories . . . . memories of his sneaking Christmas cookies my grandmother baked . . . . going to Christmas service with my family, DRESSED IN A SUIT - not Jeffrey's style back then (smile) . . . . taking a jeep from his dad's car lot and coming to get me in 8 feet of snow to go for a ride late at night . . . . his St. Bernard . . . his Afghan hound . . . and his story of either spraining badly or breaking his ankles jumping off the roof of one of the buildings on his dad's property. He was also there for me when I left my first husband . . . . he found a car on his dad's lot for me and got the terms down so I could afford it. AND . . . . he had the most BEAUTIFUL hazel eyes. They say you can see the soul through one's eyes . . . .Jeffrey was a peaceful, kind and loving soul.
I wish I would have found you, Jeffrey . . . . I wish I would have tried harder. . . . One of these days . . . I will see you again . . . I will recognize you from your mischievious smile alone.
I pray Jeffrey's family finds peace in the knowledge that Jeffrey touched so many lives . . .and was a blessing to them all.

Dearest Kaplan Family What a complete shock to hear of Jeffreys passing. He was a fun and personable fellow who had a smile and a presence that would light up a room. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Most sincere condolences to each and every one of you. Most Sincerely, Catherine (Ford) Haas
