John C. Burke, 86, entered eternal rest on October 4, 2011. He was a native Omahan, U. S. Army WWII veteran, former Douglas County District Court Judge, and retired Boys Town General Counsel. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Geraldine Rose Burke; parents, William and Isabelle Burke; brothers: Raymond, Emmett, William, and Robert Burke; sisters, Dorothy and Betty Burke. Survived by daughters and their spouses: Terry and Don Wilson of Savannah, GA, Jeanne Burke and Dr. Timothy K. Tse of Omaha, Bridget and Don Helt of Greenbrae, CA; grandchildren: Justin and Christopher Wilson, John Paul, Lauren and Natalie Tse; sister, Zita B. Sullivan of Omaha; brother-in-law, John D. Burke of Papillion; numerous nephews and nieces. Memorials to Boys Town or charity of your choice.
VISITATION begins Friday at 5pm at the Dowd Memorial Chapel at Boys Town, with VIGIL SERVICE to follow at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, 10am, Dowd Memorial Chapel, Boys Town. Interment, Calvary Cemetery with military rites by Benson VFW Post 2503. HEAFEY-HEAFEY-HOFFMANN
