Age 89, of Omaha, Beloved grandfather, husband, father, son, brother, uncle and cousin, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Hospice House in Omaha. John was born in Omaha to Cirino and Antonia Gibilisco. He grew up in South Omaha and graduated from Creighton University. He had a distinguished and enjoyable career as a Pharmacist at Walgreen's for many years, as well as owning his own business. John also served for two years in the Army during WWII. John is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Alice Gibilisco; daughter Diane Larson; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck Gibilisco and Mary Carr; daughter Linda Gardner; grandchildren, John Urzendowski, Debra Primus and husband Roger, James Urzendowski and wife Judy, Paul Gardner and wife Michelle, Sara Lutzi and husband Jack, Becky Gardner, John Gardner; 11 great grandchildren; many other dear friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul Gibilisco.
VIGIL SERVICE Monday 6:30pm at West Center Chapel. SERVICES Tuesday 9:30am, West Center Chapel to Holy Cross Catholic Church for MASS at 10am. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, with Military Rites by American Legion Post #1. Memorials to Nebraska Diabetes Association. VISITATION starts 3pm Monday, with family receiving friends 4:30-6:30pm at the West Center Chapel. HEAFEY-HEAFEY-HOFFMANN

I am sorry for your loss. I know you had many years together but it is still hard to let go. I was just talking to Paul about getting together for lunch with John when I visit Omaha.

Dear Alice, Diane, Chuck and Linda and families
Being a member of the Gibilisco family as well, I can truly say that the family will never be the same....
John was the glue that made us all want to stick together. He made happy and lasting memories wherever he was. Every single day was special to him and we all felt like we were special to him.

My sincerest condolences to John's family, especially Alice. His longtime neighbors were my mother and father, Calvin and Anna Mae Sink, who treasured John, as did everyone else on the block. I am saddened by his passing.
