The year was 1974, and I was scared to death to begin working with the boys at Boys Town. I was the first female to attempt to give them some direction. "Hartnett", as he was called was so much help, as well as Lou Palma. I hope you can take comfort that those boys in Bldg 3 thought Joe was the banner of success. may you take comfort that he was a great guy. May he rest in peace.

Marg & Family- I hope that you can find peace knowing that Joe is in a better place. My family and I lived across the street on 87th Ave for many years. I will always remember Joe, with his great big smile, always had time to play catch in the front yard. It may have been almost 25 years ago, but truly a cherished childhood memory.

Brigid and family, I was sorry to read about your Dad's death. I remember when we were growing up what an imposing yet kind figure he was. My thoughts are with you.
