Kelly was born to George and Ruby (Bartels) Nekola in Lincoln. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church, Lincoln. She graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1999 and graduated from Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ in 2003 with a degree in kinesiology. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Villanova University in Philadelphia, PA, in 2006. She worked as a vascular operating room nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. She most recently worked as a traveling operating room nurse. She was united in marriage to Ryan Clauson, Omaha, on July 17, 2010. They were divorced in 2011. Kelly is survived by her parents George and Ruby Nekola, Lincoln, NE; brother Jeffrey and wife Leslie Nekola; nephews Connor and Tayten Nekola, and niece Evyn Nekola of Shawnee, KS. Also surviving are aunts Gayle Sell, Lincoln, NE; Cherine (Kevin) Parde, The Colony, TX; uncle Darwin (Brenda) Bartels of Urbandale, IA, 7 cousins, and a large extended family. Preceded in death by infant sister; grandparents Reuben and Wilma Bartels of Enders, NE, and Hylton and Marie Nekola of Grand Island, NE.
MEMORIAL SERVICE 11:30am Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home 6800 S. 14th, Lincoln. Cremation, no visitation. Private inurnment at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the family for future designation.

Kelly, My husband Kevin spent a month with you in Oneil. I came to visit him often and seen you daily. I didn't get to know you real well but you will not be forgotten. I also got to spend some time with your dad and he was a very kind man. You will be missed by many.
