Matilde Wraith Obituary

Matilde M. Wraith

January 6, 1951 - October 2, 2025

Matilde "Tildina" Wraith passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Omaha.

Born in Asmara, Ethiopia, she carried her vibrant heritage and indomitable spirit across continents and into the hearts of all who knew her.

A woman of remarkable intellect and strength, Matilde was fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish, a testament to her deep appreciation for culture and communication. Her passion for history, the arts, and global exploration shaped both her personal life and professional journeys. As President and CEO of Travel Faire in Omaha, she led with vision and grace, guiding the company to success while traveling extensively throughout the world. Her work reflected not only a love for travel but also a profound respect for the richness of the human experience.

Matilde's life was marked by resilience and compassion. Described by those close to her as strong, brilliant, kind and loving, she was a true warrior, facing life's challenges with courage and heart. Her home was filled with love, warmth and laughter and the joyful presence of her beloved husband and Cocker Spaniels.

Matilde is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Bernard Eugene Wraith; her cherished son, Christopher Eugene Wraith; sisters-in-law, Lellina Trotta and Marcia Crim (Liggett); nieces, Michaela Trotta, Simona Trotter, and Mindy Kurowski (Thomas); nephew, Shawn Peterson; grandnephews, Leonardo Schioppi and Troy Garza; and grandniece, Melia Garza.

Matilde was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe Trotta and Anna Romano-Trotta; and her brother, Salvatore Trotta.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire all who were touched by her light.
