I remember when Mike and Jim Baratta used to walk around the neighborhood in the
early evening. Jim Capellupo and me used to follow them around to hear Mike's witticism
and jokes. Remember Mike playing baseball(catcher) for Metz Brewery. Mike was Jim and
my idol at the time, being four years older. Funny guy, good looking and a good athlete. I use
to play pickup basketball with his son-in-law, Jim Polinsky at Christy Heights.

I am so very sorry to hear of Mike Sr.'s unexpected death, Charlotte you and your entire family are in my prayers, I have so many good memories of my 70's nd 80's, & 90's.....our neighborhood/St Anns and being so blessed to grow up with all of the kids, and then living next door to Tom & Di, & kids for so long, God takes those who are so dear to us when we least expect it, I know how much his family and many grandchildren & gr8 grandchildren meant to him thru the years, I can't imagine how many peoples lives he has come into contact with, they too will be very sad that he is now with God, words are comforting, but only in time and with the help of our close family do we then find some sort of understanding as to why death happens, take care and hang in there, I will keep you all in my everday prayers. Dear Charlotte,
I noted an error in my previous message. I should have said John Marasco instead of John Mancuso. They were always so close that it was hard to not think of them as brothers. I loved them both.

Dear Mancuso's,
I remember Mike from the old neighborhood on 21st & Poppleton. I lived about five houses up the street from Mike. He was four years older than me, and I looked up to him as a role model. Him and his buddies would make us younger guys play football with them at Columbus Park. We were like tackling dummies for those guys. Also remember Mike as the catcher on the METZ summer league baseball team. Also, I know Jim Palensky from our noon basketball games at Christy Heights.Sorry for your loss.

What a bunch of fond memories of the old neighborhood. Being four years younger and watching my brother John and Mike patroling the neighborhood. Seems like I spent those years looking up to the older guys. They will always be remebered. I am so sorry for all of you but am also thinking that John and Mike are now together thinking of ways to have fun in heaven. I thank God for being able to be part of their lives.
