Michael Rourke Obituary
June 2, 1949 - November 10, 2023
Dr. Michael C. Rourke, 74, of Omaha passed away November 10, 2023. Born June 2, 1949, in Camden, New Jersey to John and Regina Rourke. Mike served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a pharmacist for 43 years and had a love and talent for woodworking. Mike will be missed for many reasons but most of all for his witty, Irish sense of humor. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kylee Jo, and brother Jay. Family members include his wife, Jo Ann; sons Corey (Erin), Lincoln, and Ryan (Amanda), Omaha; grandchildren Mary, David, Desmond and Damian; brothers Denny, Doug, and Tim Rourke; sisters Marie Rourke and Patti Shultz; many sisters–in-law, brothers-in-law, and his nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life service: 11 a.m., Friday, November 17th, VFW Post 2503, 8904 Military Rd. Omaha, NE. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the Food Bank for the Heartland or the Omaha Vet Center.

Mike will sorely be missed. I remember his humorous wisecracks during our high school days at Cathedral High. At one time during high school he bought a Yamaha motorcycle. It appeared he was forever jump starting it. I also remember he visited me when he was home on leave after Marine Corps Boot camp. He asked me if I had "rocks in my head" because I had recently listed in the Corps.
