Ray is one of a kind. Always bringing smiles to everyone. We kids would be having snowball fights and Ray would be shoveling the sidewalks, you could count on Ray to take time to give us a big smile and lob a few monster sized balls our way - we loved it! He and Sara were the total package, wonderful role models. God's speed Ray. You can bet there is extra joy in heaven today.

I was priveledged to get to know Ray through the years each week when I took care of his lawn. We always had a cold beer and long talks each week after the work was done. He shared many stories such as flying in WWII, trips to Vegas, living in the Aksarben neighborhood, going to Husker Bowl games and his greatest love, Sara. Ray had such a great sense of humor and offered me great advice on raising my young children. The last talk that we had Ray told me to "take those kids everywhere and let them see everything, they grow up so fast." Ray was one of the greatest men I have ever known. I am sure he is elated to be reunited with Sara.

My favorite memory of Ray is his sense of humor. Leslie and I were in the kitchen eating Kitty Clover potato chips, and one of us read outload their slogan "untouched by human hands." Ray replied. "They have monkeys in the plant putting the chips in the bag!" What a great response and what a great memory. My sympathies to both Linda and Leslie.

To the Marchello Family,
I just wanted to let you know how much joy both Ray and Sarah meant to my family. Ray was always there when you needed him and I always enjoyed our visits over the years. It was great that the boys were able to play for Ray on last time. They really loved Ray as we all did. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Leslie and family,
Grandpa Ray was the sweetest, most genuine, kind, charasmatic person I have ever known. I always told him I wanted to marry a man just like him. He always said "Honey, go to the nut house and pick out the nuttiest one." Love to you all. :)
