My deepest sympathies to the Gibson family. I'm a native Omahan living in Tucson Arizona but growing up I idolized Bob Gibson. H e was such a great player. As I have gotten older I have matured to value just what a fine ambassador to the game he was and How kind of a person he was. I met him as a kid in Omaha ironically a day that I was in tow with all my baseball cards of Omaha natives abd he personally signed over 40 cards of his. I was just in awe of him as I was 14 years old at the time. He asked me how I was doing in school and if I was behaving my mama, of course I said yes. You will be missed be others as well as myself. Rest in peace Mr. Gibson, and thanks for touching a heart of a 14 year old way back when.

Memories of midget baseball ( Woodbine, Iowa) in the late 40s. Rest in peace, Bob, to a fine gentleman and the best athlete I was ever privileged to know.

To Bob Gibson. You were brought into our homes by Harry Caray and Jack Buck. You were our 'proud' warrior. You will never be forgotten sir. May God bless you and to your family. Thanks for the memories

Our family has enjoyed the company of Wendy and Bob over the years. On the field he was fierce and competitive. Off the field was caring and sociable. His family and friends will remember him kindly.
We will include Bob and Wendy
in our prayers.

Mr. Gibson was an amazing man. I had the pleasure of getting to know him through my grandpa Neal Mosser. I always loved to hear my grandpa talk about What great athlete he was when my grandfather coached him at tech high. May you all find peace during this time.

My prayers go out to Bob Gibson's family members and to all who knew him and loved him. My father who was 89 years old and passed away Veterans Day (11/15/2019) has told me many fond memories of playing CYO Baseball in Omaha against him. My Dad said that he was a fierce competitor on the pitching mound, but a gentle giant on and off the baseball diamond. Baseball has always been a sport's passion in our family. My Uncle Leonard Glica who graduated from Omaha South and also played CYO baseball against Bob. My Uncle was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers and then ultimately drafted to serve in the Army. He was one of the first professional baseball players to get killed in combat while serving as an Infantryman in the Korean War. Bob Gibson was influential in both my Dad's and Uncle's life. I am confident that Bob influenced so many others by his superior athleticism, caring attitude and love for others. I pray that God will grant him eternal rest with Him in Heaven! RIP Bob!

My heart is breaking. I was a very good friend to Bob in 1997-98. I was honored to talk with Bob and I got to know an awesome man. We had dinner with a group of friends. Later I danced the swing with him at the Adams Mark in St Louis. Such a gentleman. I will miss him so very much. To me he was not Bob Gibson the pitcher, to me he was my wonderful friend. Until we meet again. With love, Vickie Wade

I met Bob for the first time when he was 79. I didn't recognize him. Over the next year we shared a few bottles of wine. I was astounded by his reputation for being a "hard guy" He always treated me and everyone around us graciously. He was more than an incredible athlete. He was a model human being. I am so sad for Wendy and his entire family. Rest in peace gentle warrior.
