To the Allen Family:

There is no greater joy then the birth of a child and no great pain then the loss of one. But may God continue to touch your hearts with the knowledge that the love you gave Sophia was passed onto those she met in life. Her life was full of joy and love that she received from her family. From that depth of love she touched the lives of those she met on her journey to be with the Lord.

While you will miss her body; the joy of her life, the spirit of her heart, and the love of family is still with you.

Cry for the physical loss; rejoice in the joy of her love and spirit that remains in your life.

To the Allen family: We were so grateful to know Sophia. Her love for God, her whit, laughs, jokes, and of course her passion for shopping will forever be remembered and celebrated! ---Because of who Sophia was in the flesh was trully an assett to anyone who knew her. We know we can look forward to that same life's passion in heaven when we meet her again! ---We weep because we won't get to sit, talk, laugh, and shop...Oh! But we rejoice because her enriched life on time's side will forever speak from the grave in each soul she touched! Thank you Lord for granting us the blessing in knowing YOUR Sophia J!

To the Allen family and "Winston"

"Smile Sophia"

May the arms of our almighty remain open too; protect you and keep you.

I can remember it like it was just yesterday when I first met MISS Sophia Allen and Evette working with the FSS program and how sweet, blessed, and angelic you was and how you took to my son and daughter; whome you deamed your little god daughter and when ever I would see you, you would say "nope don't say nothing to me, you didn't bring my "Miss Erica" to see me" and then you would just give that day-brighting smile.

We're gonna really miss being able to just hop in the car and taking a short drive to come see you, but we know one day soon we'll meet again.

We all love and miss you dearly Miss Allen.

Sophia was a patient of ours at the Peggy Cowdery Center at the Med Center but soon became much more than that. With her dignified grace and quiet, beautiful personality she will always be remembered by us. She had a beautiful sense of selflessness about her and will never be forgotten, it was a pleasure having her in our lives for the time she was here, please know that she is still with you and we will all be together again someday.
Our thoughts are with her and her loved ones...She impacted us all...

Allen Family

I always thought of her as one of my daughters. She was great at sending cards that made the right statement to make you feel better. The following is one of those cards that I received from her many years ago. This was truly Sophia.

"A Generous Spirit"

Some people have it-a beautiful spirit that's giving and gracious in everyday ways. They're quick to be helpful, unfailingly thoughtful, and lavish with words of approval and praise. Life can be stressful, and yet there are those with a listening heart, an encouraging smile, who know how to look on the bright side of things and whose viewpoint is always sincere and worthwhile. Those who are blessed with a generous spirit inspire grateful fellings so lasting and strong that somehow the spirit turns out to be catching, and when they touch others, they pass it along!
The kind things she did, sent out ripples into the world, touching lives in ways she never knew.

Sophia, you were more than a co-worker, friend, boss & assistance Section 8 Director, You were an AMAZING WOMAN. I will truly miss you.

Those We Love Remain Part of Us "Our loved ones leave the world, but never our hearts." No words can ease the pain or feel the void; I pray that God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and that friends are praying for you in your time of sorrow.

Linda Moore

January 25, 2007

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

January 25, 2007

There is nothing I can do, to make her come back. There is no words I can say, that can replace her words you long to hear.
There are no answer's I can give, that will satisfy your questions. There is not another soul I can introduce you to that will ever replace hers and there is no love I can offer that will ever replace the love you shared.
I can not promise your broken heart will ever be complete. I will not say it could have been worse. I will not deny it was a tragedy. I will not lie and tell you she will come back........
She never really left
I do promise she hears you when you speak, I will say she loves you no matter the distance. I will not deny she is in a better place and I will not lie; she is waiting to greet you someday.
She is every step you take, She is everything you do, She is the air you breathe, She is every beat of your heart. She is like the wind. You can not see her....but you will always feel her!
