Thomas Doherty Obituary
December 26, 2023
Thomas P. Doherty of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Omaha, NE, passed away on Dec. 26 in Riddle Hospital, Media, PA. He is preceded in death by his father Maynard "Pug" Doherty, mother Mary M. Doherty, and brother Michael Doherty. He is survived by his wife Dr. Phoebe F. Doherty and daughters Jennifer Doherty (with grandson John) and Heather Doherty.
Thomas P. Doherty graduated from Benson High School, Omaha, NE, in 1958, earned an A.B. in chemistry in 1962 from the University of Omaha and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1967. After a 26-year career at DuPont in fibers and technology forecasting he joined Cunning & Associates Ltd. (1993) as a Technical Consultant and Technical Editor for the National Textile Center. As a professional genealogical researcher, Dr. Doherty specialized in Delaware.
Tom's Memorial Service followed by a Celebration of his Life, will be held on Sat. March 16, 2024 in Wilmington, DE.
