Wade Knapp Obituary

KNAPP-Wade E., died May 7, 2007, after a short illness. Born May 19, 1915 in Omaha, NE he grew up in Omaha and attended North High and Omaha University. Upon graduation he entered into the FBI where he served his country for 25 years mainly abroad in Latin America as a Special Agent in Charge. After retiring from the FBI in 1966 he moved back to Omaha and went to work in the family business, the Omaha Box Company, alongside his two brothers Bob Sr. and Jerry Knapp. Wade continued to work at the company until his "second" retirement in November 1986. He was extremely active in the Downtown Kiwanis Club and a 40+ year member of Rockbrook United Methodist Church. Wade was preceded in death by his first wife Eleanor and also by his second wife Alice. He is survived by his three children: son Gary and wife, Sue, of Omaha; daughter Diane White and husband, Kenton, of Russell, IA, daughter Pamela Knapp, of Omaha and 4 grandchildren: Tyler, Levi, Emma, and Rachel. He is also survived by Wayland and Joyce Magee and their children, Marty Magee and her children and Patty and Richard Birch and their children.
VISITATION will be Wednesday May 9, 2007 at Crosby-Kunold-Burket Swanson-Golden Funeral Home, 11902 West Center Rd from 6-8 pm. SERVICES will be held at 9am Thursday May 10, from the Funeral Home to Forest Lawn Cemetery for 9:30am Graveside Service. MEMORIAL SERVICE at 11 am at Rockbrook United Methodist Church, 9855 West Center with the Reverend William Williams, officiating. Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society or Rockbrook United Methodist Church. CROSBY BURKET

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Although I only met Wade on a few occasions over the years he always left me with a wonderful impression of a kind, intelligent person with a good sense of humor. I know he delighted in his family and was proud of all of you. Please know that we are keeping you all in our continued prayers. Remember that this is not good-bye and that you will see each other again someday in heaven. May God's peace and presence continue to be with you in the days ahead.
