I have worked with Bill for the past couple of decades. He was always a very helpful person, and very knowledgeable in his field. My prayers go out to his family and friends, and I hope that God will provide them with an added measure of peace and grace at this difficult time.

We extend our condolences and love to Stacey, Christopher, Jeffrey and Jessica. We were privileged to have the Treu´s as neighbours during our time in the US. It was wonderful to spend time with Bill. He was fun; the life of the party, knowledgeable and entertaining all at once. What Bill didn´t know about military history was not worth mentioning. We have such warm and fond memories sharing 4th of July at the Treu´s, along with other neighbourhood celebrations and holidays. Bill taught us some fun things about how to be American and fit into the neighbourhood properly. A special mention is that the only way to leave Christmas reindeer on your front lawn was to chain them up for safety, it turns out for many months of the year! Most importantly, we learned that Bill was a loving father and husband and a good man we were proud to call our friend. We are so sorry for your loss Stacey and family. Sending our love, Carleen, Steve, Lachie, Anthea and Teddy.

I worked with Bill for the past 12 years. Most of that was at conferences or working together on papers or briefings. He always wore a smile and taught me so much. I will miss our chats.

Bill always had a smile on his face and genuinely seemed interested in what was going on in your life. Rare in this time/day. He will be missed.

I worked with Bill for twenty years. Sometimes in the same organization; sometimes over the phone in long conversations - he always had a lot to say. He did a lot for his country, and I very much enjoyed working with him. But, I also knew at his heart, he cared about his family. I will miss him. And I wish condolences to those he left behind.
