Carl Collins Obituary
Carl was born on Nov. 13, 1940 in Vernon, a son of the late Carl S. and Anna Mae (Hammond) Collins and was a graduate of Vernon High School.
On Aug. 17, 1963 Carl and Linda Doane were united in marriage in Vienna, New York and have shared a loving union of over 47 years together.
Carl was a dairy farmer his whole life who also sold farm products and at one time was a school bus driver.
His memberships included the Farm Bureau and the Verona Kitchen Conference. Carl enjoyed working the land and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife Linda; his children and their spouses, Richard and Barb Collins of Oneida, Paula and David Orr of Oneida, James Collins of Cazenovia, Randall and Jill Collins of Vernon and Carolye Collins of Oneida; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Adams of Vernon and Portia (Chris) Doane of Vernon; four brothers, Leslie (Prudy) Collins of Vernon Center, Stanley (Patsy) Collins of Douglasville, Ga., Harley (Kim) Collins of Verona and John Collins of Vernon, one uncle, Joseph (Marylee) Hammond, four aunts, Mattie Rowe, Barbara Piersall, Eunice Sheppard and Alberta Collins, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, David Doane, Clifford and Margaret Doane and Faith Doane, also one uncle and aunt Art and Rose Doane as well as several special nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by his parents, one sister Iva Hall and one brother Roland Collins.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front street Vernon. Carl's' funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Vernon United Methodist Church, W. Seneca Street, Vernon with Rev. Frank Loan officiating. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, NY.
