Daniel DePugh Obituary
He was born on June 12, 1937, in Syracuse, a son of the late Hugh and Dorothy (McCormick) DePugh.
Dan spent his early years in Oneida, attending school there. He has lived in Canastota most of his life.
He worked for the former Northeast Environmental Services in Canastota for 25 years, retiring in 1996. He had previously worked for Santaro-Tarson Trucking in Syracuse for several years.
Dan is a past member of the NRA, and the former Loyal Order of Moose in Oneida.
He enjoyed hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a great conversationalist, and could fix anything that someone brought to him.
Dan married Carol A. Eastman on April 9, 1960, in Oneida.
Surviving besides his wife, Carol, are: one son, Daniel DePugh and his companion, Mary Jo Williams, of Oneida; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Linda DePugh of Oneida; one sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Reggie Jordon of Oneida; two grandsons, Daniel DePugh, and Justin DePugh; two great-granddaughters, Giania and Khaleesi; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including Bob Popple, Clarence White, and John Pritchard. Dan was predeceased by his father and step-mother, Hugh and Mollie (Ponto) DePugh; his mother, Dorothy McCormick; and three brothers, William Henry DePugh, Edward DePugh, and Alan David Buss.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James St., Canastota. Pastor Dan King of New Life Assembly of God, Oneida, will officiate. The family will greet friends, prior to the service, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In his memory, contributions may be made to the Greater Lenox Ambulance Service, Inc., (GLAS), P.O. Box 382, Canastota, N.Y. 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
