EATON >> Frank Lewis Russock, 90, of Eaton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at Crouse Community Center, Morrisville.
Born in Clayville, N.Y. on Aug. 5, 1925 to Martin and Mary Novak Russock, he grew up in Hamilton, and graduated from Hamilton Central School. In August 1942, Frank enlisted in the US Marine Corps and participated in action at Roi-Namur, Marshall Islands, Saipan, Tinian, Marianas Islands, and Iwo Jima where he was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart. On June 25, 1950 he was united in marriage to Helen Lodor. He served as Rural Letter Carrier for the Eaton Post Office for over 30 years, and was very involved with the RLC Association. Frank joined the Eaton Fire Department in 1954 and remained a Past President and District Fire Commissioner. He was a member of the Eaton Community Church and served as Trustee for many years.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Deborah Heslop of Fair Haven and Deidre (Ray) Simmons of Eaton; grandchildren, Dr. Sara Heslop-Thomas (Michael) of Rochester, Caleb (Meghan) Heslop of Oakland, Calif., Travis (Jessica) Heslop of Baltimore, Md., Amanda (Jon) Dercole of Schenectady, Jessica (Brandon) Confer of Winston-Salem, N.C. and great-grandchildren, Liam Thomas, Lily Heslop, and Jackson Ray Dercole. He was predeceased by his wife and siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville. Interment will be held in the spring the Eaton Village Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday from noon to 2 p.m.
