Joan Noto Obituary
She was born on July 1, 1950 in Oneida, N.Y. a daughter of the late James J. and Evelyn (Claus) Iles and was a graduate of Oneida High School.
At a young age Joan joined the Oneida Limited Silversmith staff and worked for over 45 years with the company where she was serving as a sales correspondent prior to her illness.
On Oct. 6, 1973 Joan and Peter B. Noto were united in marriage in St. Patrick's Church of Oneida and the couple has shared a loving union of over 42 years together.
She was a member of St. Helena's Church of Sherrill.
Joan enjoyed her times she spent with her family and ""her children were her life.""
Surviving are her loving husband, Peter B. Noto of Sherrill; one son, Peter J. (Autum) Noto of Rome; one daughter, Kristina Noto and significant other Josh Miller of Utica; one brother, James (Janice) Iles of Claremont, Calif.; one sister, Patricia (David) Hobbie of Blossvale; two sisters-in-law, Karen Shortell of Sherrill and Gail Combs of Verona; one brother-in-law, Art Ankrum of Franklin, Tenn. as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her parents and sister-in-law Sue Ankrum.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate care given to Joan throughout her illness.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill. A celebration of Joan's life will be at a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Helena's Church, 210 Primo Ave., Sherrill. Burial will be in St. Helena's Cemetery, Oneida, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joan may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middlesettlement Road, New Hartford, N.Y. 13413.
