Louis Fisk Obituary

Munnsville-Louis Bradford Fisk, age 85 passed away early Thursday morning, November 16, 2023 in the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility. He was born on December 28, 1937 in Bainbridge, New York a son of the late Louis P. and Katherine (Boyd) Fisk and was a graduate of the Unadilla Valley Central Schools and furthered his education at SUNY Delhi. Louis came to this are in 1971. On August 15, 1981 he married Barbara Kiner Olmsted and the couple shared that loving vow until her death on May 4, 2012. Louie taught at Madison-Oneida BOCES for twenty-two years retiring in 1993. He served as a past president of the Munnsville Ruitans and served on the Stockbridge Board of Education for six years. He was a past member and assistant chief of the Sconondoa Volunteer Fire Department, past trustee of the Stockbridge United Methodist Church, PPR Chair of the Stockbridge United Methodist Church and honorary trustee of the Lairdsville United Methodist Church. Surviving are his sons, Rodney (Linda) Fisk of Wampsville and Roger Fisk of Unadilla, stepchildren, Aaron (Dawn) Olmsted, Kasilof AK, who he raised, Gary (Theresa) Olmsted, Oneida, Chris (Shawn) Olmsted, Sylvan Beach, Allen (Jill) Olmsted of Manlius, Lynn Olmsted of N. Chittenango, 6 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, Caysen Fisk, Blayke Fisk and River Fisk one brother, sister-in-law, Grace Fisk of Buffalo, one brother-in-law, Don Taylor, FL, 2 nephews and very close friends Dan and Deb Smith and their family Dustin, Dana and Daniel Smith of Stockbridge. Louie was predeceased by a son BM2 Gary John Fisk on April 19, 1989 aboard the USS Iowa BB-61 and Larry Fisk on March 24, 2017. Louie was loved and respected by who knew him and he will be missed by all. He was a true teacher all his life and his teachings will continue on for many years to come. He leaves his wisdom, patience and love to many. He had many special friends of all ages and now is in the arms of Christ. Louie was a true blessing. In helping with Louis' wishes funeral services will be private for the family. Burial will be in Stockbridge Cemetery, Middle Road, Stockbridge, NY. To all of Louie´s children I send my deepest condolences to you all. I knew your father and all of you for many years and it´s heartbreaking that your journey in life will continue without him. He´s with the love oc his life and his sons now and that is comforting. May God lift you up and hold you at this difficult time. Your father was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Prayers for you all.
