Timothy Claven Obituary

CANASTOTA >> Timothy J. Claven at the age of 63, of 2120 Schoolheimer Road, Canastota, N.Y. 13032 died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Oneida Healthcare Center.
He was born on May 31, 1950 in Amsterdam, N.Y. a son of James and Dorothy Glenar Claven. He married Karen Wimett on June 5, 1976 in Cochran Memorial Church in Oneida Castle. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School in 1969.
Tim served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War from 1969 to 1971. He was the owner and operator of Johnson Monument Company on Glenwood Avenue in Oneida for over 30 years until his illness. He was a member of the Oneida American Legion Post No. 169.
Surviving are his wife, Karen, at home; three sons, Christopher, Jeremy and Sean Claven, all of Oneida; one daughter, Autumn of Oneida; two brothers, James and David Claven, both of Cleveland, N.Y.; two sisters, Melodie Ciani of Oneida and Amy Claven of Cortland, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral and burial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
