Barnett Malcom Obituary

Bostwick - Barnett Hardeman Malcom, 69 of Bostwick died November 23, 2005. Mr. Malcom was born August 23, 1936 to Beeson H. and Ann Preston Malcom in Bostwick. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School and the University of Georgia.
Mr. Malcom married Drusilla Smith on March 23, 1961. Together they raised four children on their farm in Bostwick. Mr. Malcom was a lifelong resident of Morgan County. He was a member of Bostwick United Methodist Church and the Wellington Masonic Lodge. Mr. Malcom spent his life working in agriculture related business. He grew cotton, soy beans and raised beef cattle. Most recently, he was co-owner of Duvall Livestock Market in Greensboro, where he greatly enjoyed meeting and talking with area farmers.
Mr. Malcom is survived by his wife of 44 years, Drusilla Smith Malcom, and children: Stacy M. Nabors & Stan, Sandy M. Warbington & Jimmy, Bucky Malcom and Jim Malcom & Tonya. Also surviving are six grandchildren: James and Bethany Warbington, Macy and Marlee Malcom, Kaitlyn and Cally Malcom, and two sisters, Ruby M. Field and Russell and Bebe M. Ruark and Marvin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Malcom was preceded in death by his parents, Beeson and Ann Malcom.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Saturday morning at 11:00 am at Bostwick City Cemetery with a celebration of life immediately following at Bostwick United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bostwick United Methodist Church General Fund, PO Box 257, Bostwick, GA 30623.
A. E. Carter Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
