Gerald Carroll Obituary

Wrens - Gerald "Jerry" Len Carroll, 52, loving son of Catherine Culverson Carroll and the Rev. Dr. Emmitt Tipton Carroll Jr., entered into rest on the evening of Monday, July 25, 2011, at the Georgia Health & Science University.
Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Bethlehem, with the Rev. Autry Waters officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.
Being a "people person," Jerry was the consummate car salesman. His honesty, integrity and mantra that he'd "rather make friends more than money" earned him recognition by both Chrysler and Ford for Outstanding Salesman & Representative in the Southeast.
He was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he faithfully served his Lord and participated in several mission trips to Mexico.
He was an avid sports fan, but especially liked stock car racing, and he loved boating with his girls.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends across the US.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Emmitt T. Carroll III and Kevin Wayne Carroll.
His survivors also include daughters, Jessica C. Jackson (Nathaniel) and Krista Carroll; brother, Stephen Cabell Carroll (Teri), of El Reno, Okla.; grandchildren, Austin, Anzion, Cyrus, and Elijah; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a host of friends.
To honor Jerry and to continue work in Mexico, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jerry Carroll Memorial Mission Fund, P.O. Box 86, Wrens, GA 30833.
James Funeral Home, Wrens, has charge of arrangements.

I want to wish you both my sincere prayers. I went to high school with Jerry and actually spent the night at your home on the Hog mountain Hwy with some friends(Andy Wilson) when we were the high school.

Rev. and Mrs. Carroll, You have my deepest sympathies on the loss of your son. Jerry and I went to high school together and though we weren't close friends through the years any time that I saw him I could count on a smile, a handshake and a "How are you". That meant a lot to me. You are all in my prayers.

Rev and Mrs. Carroll,I am very sorry for your loss. I of all people know that Jerry had a big heart and he showed it by taking on a responsibilty that I could not at the time. And for that I am and will always be greatful to him. I know he will be missed, but God will see you through it. God Bless you and the rest of your family.
