I remember the first time I saw UGA IV, he had a twinkle in his eye and a fire in his heart. A dribble of slobber came from his mouth and he had a tight fighting Georgia dog sweater on that hugged his body in all the right places. A heart don´t forget something like that and we won´t forget you UGA IV. RIP, Go Dawgs.

To the owner of UGA VA sorry for your loss. In God's kingdom government there will be animals to live among us again.

(Isaiah 11:6) 6 The wolf will reside for a while with the lamb, And with the young goat the leopard will lie down, And the calf and the lion and the fattened animal will all be together; And a little boy will lead them.
So it will be in the not so distant future when we will have access to nature's wonders in animals and never long for an animal companion ever again, what joy God has promised for all us animal lovers.

To the Seiler Family and the University of Georgia community: I was very sad to hear of Uga VI's untimely passing. Please accept my condolences on this painful loss. I understand the hearbreak of losing a beloved bulldog, as I have lost two bulldogs in the last 11 years and have two more to break my heart. Bulldogs are the best, and UGAs are the best of them all--

Dear Seiler family,
Thank you so much for sharing all of the UGAs with the Bulldog nation over the past 52 years. UGA VI was the grandest and my favorite - he truly seemed to be the embodiment of Georgia- tough, solid, tenacious, and full of spunk. Your "Damn Good Dog" video is my favorite and whenever I share that video with friends, they are touched as well as impressed.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family- whenever we lose a family member there is a hole but what fond memories we can all share when we remember UGA VI- a damn good dog.

UGA VI- you were the reason that I became a Georgia Bulldogs fan, you were the most beautiful dog even more handsome then my Rocko. He was a big guy just like you, but he had a shorter life though. I am sure that you are with him right now in the Dogs haven! you will be missed!

I had the BEST 40th birthday a gal could have due in huge part to Uga VI!! With the husband, three kids and four Santa hats in tow, we loaded up the truck and we moved to Beverly... Ok, not really.. but we did check in to the Hilton Garden Inn. It was Aug. 18th, 2006 and I was 40 years young. What did I want for my 40th? What woman dosen't want to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to get in line to get a ticket for the COOLEST DAWG on the face of this earth? Most of you know I speak of Picture Day at UGA. The husband and daughters got in the Coach Richt line which they were 3rd or 4th in line, needless to say they went back to the hotel with their Richt tickets while my son and I barely moved from our 114th position in the Uga VI line! When our turn at the ticket window FINALLY arrived (approx. 9:23am) we were handed a "standby" ticket! GASP!! What that meant was we were not guaranteed a photo with our beloved Uga VI. Never one to throw in the towel when the circumstances are DIRE... I had a plan since last years Christmas cards and I was NOT going to be denied!! Here's where the Christmas hats come in... In the past you people would not believe what I would spend on the greatest Christmas cards you've ever seen. The plan to outshine any other card I had ever done was to have my three: 10 year old daughter Georgia, and twins Will and Bailey,8, plus Uga VI in Santa hats pose for my Christmas cards!! The Lord is good because Uga was feeling pretty good and they allowed 10 standby tickets to have a photo op.!! I was told we would have to ask Mrs. Sieler if we could put a Santa hat on Uga and being the true southern lady she is said, "Honey, if he'll let you, you can sure try!!" Uga didn't like the fluff ball on the hat hanging in his face so he tried to chew it but Mrs. Sieler adjusted the hat (while we all got to love on Uga) and then we were awarded several pictures!! Happy Birthday to me and a very Merry Christmas!!! It was the greatest card ever. My heart-felt thanks to the Sielers and to the BEST DAWG EVER. I treasure the memories!! You will be missed.

Dear Seiler Family,
Thank you for the generous way in which you have shared your beloved dogs with the Bulldog "Nation" and with the world. Uga VI was a remarkable individual whose patience, character and dignified demeanor is not only a reflection of great breeding, but is surely a reflection of your family's magnanimous spirit as well. We are a greater community as a result of the joy and delight of your beloved friend who will not be forgotten. May God's blessings and peace rest upon your household through this time of loss and into the future. (UGA Class of 1979)

Uga VI you were one of my favorite parts of being a UGA student! In fact, meeting you in Washington DC last year was the best moment of my college career. You were a good, sweet dog, and the only people who will miss you more than your fans who were students at UGA are your family members. My heart goes out to the Seilers who didn't just lose a mascot, lost a beloved pet. My prayers are with you all!

For the Seiler Family and all of the fans this is a tough loss. I've watched Uga VI and all of the others for as long as I can remember (even in the mvie Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil). Although I've lived in Texas for the last 20 years I still watch every game I can. My favorite was when you would bite or try to bite the opposing team members when they entered the end zone. I know you will still continue protect the end zone from heaven.

Still Here
I stood by you, by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well. I'm fine. I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast. I watched you pour the tea.
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today. Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today. You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said, "It's me."
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.
It's possible for me to be so near you everyday -
to say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew.
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over . . . I smile and watch you yawning
and say, "Good night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out . . . then come home to be with me.

I pray you find this as helpful as I did. Our 11 yr American Bulldog Petey died this year and we miss him very much.
