Robert Lowe Jr.

Robert Hendley Lowe Jr. passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013.
Mr. Lowe was the son of Robert H. Lowe Sr. and the late Peggy Yarbrough Lowe, of Gainesville. He was born in Athens on March 8, 1966, graduated from North Hall High School in 1984, and graduated from UGA in 1988 with a degree in horticulture.
Mr. Lowe was a free spirit who enjoyed the outdoors, and he had many friends from all walks of life. He inherited his green thumb from his father, and enjoyed his career as a professional gardener. He also became an avid cook, due to the many hours he spent with his mother in the kitchen.
Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents, Vearl and Bonnie Lowe and Thomas and Margaret Yarborough; and his beloved canine companion, Jack.
He is survived by his father, Robert Hendley Lowe Sr., of Gainesville; his sister, Leigh Anne Lowe Landers, of Athens; her children, Sarah Hendley and James Lawson Landers; and their father, James Steven Landers.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, at Bernstein Funeral Home, in Athens. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Tuckston United Methodist Church, in Athens, with Dr. Terry Walton officiating.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local humane society or other community animal rescue shelter.
