I was very saddened to hear about Jeff's passing. Even though he was the same age as my brother and closer to him as a friend,he made quite an impression on me as a youngster. The Richards' were our "across the street" neighbors when we first moved to Athens back in 1970 and our families were close. He was truly one of a kind. My condolences go out to everyone in the Richard's family. I passed the news onto Dan who is in Peru making a documentary. Our prayers are with you.

Jeff was a great friend in the early years of my life. We had some memorable times together. That dry sense of humor was evident early on. Our thoughts are with you.

Our deepest sympathy. Jeff will be greatly missed. One of his many attributes was his dry sense of humor. He encouraged much laughter over the years. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you.

Jeff was a close friend of our family for many years. My sister Bonnie dated him for a while when she lived in Athens and I continued to see Jeff whenever I went to Athens to visit my grandparents. His dry sense of humor endeared him to all of us. I remember when he started collecting unique stone figurines. He had a small buffalo made of marble that he was particularly fond of, and to tease him, I hid it before I left his house. Ten minutes later he called to find out where it was!I hadn't seen Jeff in a few years because both of my grandmothers died and I no longer visited Athens, and I regret that we lost touch.Jeff will always hold a special spot in our hearts and you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
