Willie Kerr Obituary

Hartwell, Ga. - Mrs. Willie Pauline Kerr, 96, formerly of 401 Dovetown Road, Royston, Ga. died Sunday, May 30, 2004 at Hart County Hospital.
A Life long resident of Franklin County, Mrs. Pauline Kerr was born March 14, 1908 daughter of the late Wylie Compton and Evie Cornelia Phillips James and was the widow of Rev. William C. Kerr. She was the last surviving member of her family and the last surviving grandchild of John Chappel James. Mrs. Kerr was homemaker and worked as a Nurses Aid for Cobb Memorial Hospital for several years. She was a member of the New Hope Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Kerr, also a sister, Annie Bell James Grizzle.
Granny Kerr or 'Aunt Peggy' as she was affectionately referred to by those who knew her was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and a generous caring lady to all who knew her. Many souls have been helped by her prayers and her love. She will be missed by all those whose life she has touched. We, her family, will carry her memory tenderly in our hearts. We know she has a special place in heaven.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 02, 2004 at the New Hope Worship Center with Rev. Dennis Kesler, Jr., Rev. Jonathan Randall and Rev. Grant Myerholtz officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Dolores Kerr McCarley of Cumming, Ga., Bonnie Rubena Fields of Hartwell, Ga., Peggy Diane Martin of Royston, Ga.; Two sons, William Compton Kerr of Carnesville, Ga. and James Dennis Kerr of Redondo Beach, CA. Sixteen Grandchildren and twelve Great-Grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family is at the residence of Peggy Diane Martin, 1433 Athens Road, Royston, Ga. and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday Evening at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga.
Flowers are welcome, but those wishing memorials please do so to the, New Hope Worship Center Building Fund, P.O. Box 355, Franklin Springs, Ga. 30639.

To All of You, the family of Pauline: James and I will always hold dear the memory of HER. She was such a Devoted Christian Mother and a compassionate Lady and Friend to everyone who knew her.
