Abner Fleisher Obituary

FLEISHER, ABNER, 86, passed away peacefully Sunday in Longwood, FL. An Army Air Corp veteran of WWII, he served as a bombadier on a B-17 and was a POW at Stalag Luft 1, Barth, Germany for 15 months. Upon returning to the U.S., Captain Fleisher was honored with a Presidential Citation, Air Medal with two clusters and two Purple Hearts. He worked for the insurance industry as an inspector and auditor. Started Abco Associates, Inc. in 1975 and retired 1983. He was married to his loving wife, Margaret Van Buskirk Fleisher for 52 years. He is survived by his four devoted children, Van Fleisher, Nancy Reeves (Fleisher), Cyndy DeCesare (Fleisher), and Jeff Fleisher; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Abner enjoyed golf, home repairs, and doing his daily crossword puzzle. A service will be held to honor his life at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Altamonte Springs Chapel, 994 E. Altamonte Drive, Wednesday July 6, 2005 from 6-8PM.

Uncle Ab will surely be missed. It was always a pleasure to chat, and visit with him. I'll always have fond memories swimming in the pool, and riding on the back of his golf cart. Also, I'll always appreciate all the birthday cards he never forgot to send.
