Remembering Billy, a great guy and a talented singer. I met him only once, in 2003, with my friend Ray Ruff, famous record producer, who produced some great music for Billy at Oak Records in the early 2000s. He impressed me with his friendly smile and easy charm.

Hi Lori, I was going trough some photo's when Billy was out here at Chet's studio and found some awesome pix of Billy. If you want me to send you some of the pix of him please email me at [email protected] and I will print them and send to you. It's so hard to believe he is gone as he was such a beautiful person. My son Ryan was just devastated we will never forget him singing the song "Honey" for me at my Ray's memorial. I know how hard it is to get through and it's a loss you never get over. I think of you often Lori and pray you are getting through the grieving process. Much love and blessing to you and your family. Love, Sharon Ruffin

Lori and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss! I met Billy when my husband (then fiance) had gone to PCB for one last vacation before our wedding. As we got to talking, we found out that he was from our hometown & began talking for hours! He started singing a song for us that we had wanted him to come sing at our wedding but things didn't work out to where he could come. He told us how important he thought marriage was. He even talked about his marriage! I felt blessed to have the opportunity to meet him! What a WONDERFUL person he was. I could tell that just from our week in PCB. I pray that God carry you Lori through this horrible time!

It was a sad day for me when I received the news of Billy's untimely death. In 2005, I lost my husband to Lung Cancer, "James Austin" of The Platters and Billy drove his tour bus from Florida, he and his friends to donate his time and perform at a benefit concert for James while he was in the hospital. He was a dear friend of mine and also James, now the two of them are together in that heavenly choir. I remember that everlasting smile even as I write these words, I can see that beautiful smile that Billy always had on his face.

I met Billy through my brother Johnny Lee and John Daly. Our family fell in love with him immediately. I will never forget the birthday parties in New Lisbon, Wi for Johnny and Clayton. Billy would perform and I think he nearly gave Aunt Mary Lou a heart attack when he danced on the table and sang an Elvis tune. We will miss him dearly and send our love and condolences to Lauri and the family. The world lost a beautiful person and heaven gained a beautiful voice.

I met Billy as well, in Golden Gate at the Tiki Hut and porky's. When I was
younger, my mom would bring me there, and we would listen to him as he performed. I always gave him a carnation while he was singing. I have a T-shirt of his, and a photograph that he signed specially for me, which hangs on my wall.
Im so sorry for your loss.

Billy Pierson was an amazing and loving friend. I met Billy in Nashville back in June 2007. And from the time me met I knew we would be friends. He was an amazing performer onstage and his music was great. My favorite song being Eternally Broke and Dont Get No Sand In It. The many times I have seen him play at Tootsie's in Panama City I will cherish forever. And hanging out just talking and catching up after the shows will be in my heart to remember. The loss of such a dear friend breaks my heart. My love and prayers go out to his wife and there children. The world has lost such a great man. I still can't believe he is gone ...

Love you always my dear friend,

Although we have only known Billy for two short years, my son Brad and I will have a lifetime of great memories that were shared with Billy. We first met Billy at a Lion's Heart benefit golf outing and became instance friends, Billy had a beautiful personality and a big smile to go with it.
Brad played in Billy’s foursome that weekend, they both played exceptional well and where both challenging each other to play there best, shooting a -17 under. Billy performed that evening and had everyone on the dance floor; He was a great entertainer and new how to bring any crowd to there feet.
We had the privilege of having Billy perform here in Wisconsin at Hollywood Clay’s Heroes & Legends Lounge in New Lisbon WI., not only was it New Years Eve, but also my birthday. Billy put on a dynamite performance, as did his friend that performed with him. We spent that night catching up on the past year, Billy told me of his love for his wife Lori and his children, he said 2009 would be his year of reckoning and we toasted in the New Year. Sadly as it turned out, this would be the last time we would see Billy in this world. Although we spoke often by phone or texting each other.
Billy has been a wonderful influence in my son’s life and always encouraged him to get after his golf game, and chase his stargaze.
My God bless his family in this time of sorrow. May Billy’s memories overshadow your pain, He will be greatly missed.

Billy was a great entertainer and one of the finest country-western artists we have ever heard. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him and loved him.
I never met Billy, but my wife Sharon, the widow of famous producer Ray Ruff, knew him very well. She is mourning his loss and in deep grief.
Billy recorded some record albums for Ray Ruff and his record company, Oak Records, a few years back, and Ray worked with him on his last release on V-Tone in 2004, with some A&R publicity. Sharon sang backing vocals on some of his songs on these albums.
We honor and praise the memory of this fine recording artist, who should have been a nationally-known celebrity.
We pray for his family and friends as they mourn his loss and try to make a new life without him.
Bless you all,

Billy was one of kind and a very special person. If he ever had a bad day, you would never know it. EVERY time you saw him he ALWAYS had a hug and a great big smile for you. I am sure that he never knew just how many lives that he touched. We were all fortunate to have known him. While we all pray for and support his family during this difficult time with wonderful stories and memories, we just know that he is up on a great big stage up above playing a song for us!

I can only imagine the grief Billy's Family is feeling. We knew Billy for a short while but it seemed much longer. We would go to Tootsies to hear Billy sing. Billy was our favorite of any performer. He always remembered us by name and hugged our neck each time we were there. Our daugther Lauren (7) just loved him. The last time we were there about 2 weeks ago, he got Lauren on stage and sang to her. After his set he danced a few songs with her and signed her shirt. She was walking on clouds that night. Since we heard the news of Billy's passing we have looked back at the many photos we have of him and smile. We were lucky to know him and our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Billy - you will be missed!

Lori,
Immense sorrow at the news of Billy's death ... you and Billy made fast friends of the Florida Sheriffs when you performed here in Naples for the assembled Sheriffs at summer conference ... Billy's energy and giving spirit inspired an entire state of leaders ... my fondest memory is of Billy giving his talent, energy, love and friendship to the entire Hunter family when you and Billy traveled to Gadsden County, Florida to support my brother Tony in his greatest life challenge; a cancer that would ultimately take him ... you helped to shelter him emotionally and financially during the final days of this hundred year dream we call life ... Billy will always be a brother and a member of the Hunter clan ... we will keep Billy, you and the family in our prayers and thoughts ... God bless you and the family ...

August 11, 2009

Lori,
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. My condolences to you and your daughters.
Billy gave me a "permanent smile" when he was in the same room- what a wonderfully talented entertainer and
caring person.
His CD is in my CD player and it will continue to be... as I remember him so fondly... Kentucky Rain and Pressure are two of my favourites!!

I'm in complete shock! I have so many fond memories from going to Billy's show at the Quality Inn in DeLand, FL. I couldn't wait to go to the show when I heard he was going to be in town. I'll never forget one night Billy was singing "Pina Colada" by Garth Brooks and somehow a Pina Colada ended up being auctioned off by Billy. My friend was the high bidder...she paid $11 for a virgin pina colada. We still laugh about that night but she said she didn't care what she paid because it was "Billy on the stage auctioning it off". I've been to many shows at The Barn in Sanford but not one of them as memorable as Billy Pierson's show. He had a way that drew the entire crowd into his show and he always made time for his fans afterwards. We drove past the Quality Inn the other day and of course, started talking about Billy. He will be missed but his music will live on forever. To the family, my heart goes out to you. May you find the strength to get through the dark days ahead by remembering how many lives Billy touched and what a wonderful, caring, gentle man he was. May God Bless You now and forever.

Lori,Chuck,Uncle Tommy,Chaz and all of Billy's loved ones.
I had the pleasure of working with Billy at the Quality Inn in Naples Florida and I remember when he use to come in just for karaoke and everyone loved him and I finally talked him in to coming out to play for us on friday and saturday nights and I will always love his bright smile the way it just lit up a room and everyone who ever met him would never forget him. I sure won't.He always called me chickee pat and even when I moved from Naples to Arkansas every opportunity I got I would go see him. One of the last times was when he was in Arkansas for the John Daly golf tournament and the security guards told me I couldn't go backstage to see Billy and I said Bet Me and about that time Billy walked out of his bus and saw me and yelled CHICKEE PAT and I told him that he knew if he was anywhere close to where I was I would find a way to come see him because I probably have more videos of him than anyone.Any way I just want the whole family to know how much me and the whole quality in gang loved and worshipped him. He's looking down on us now and telling us he's in a better place. My thought and prayers are with the whole family and I've been watching his video's all weekend

Billy was a close family friend when we were teenagers and some of my greatest memories of him were when he sang Elvis songs for us. He wanted to sing and make people happy with his music and that is exactly what he did. I hope that he is singing now in a heavenly choir and that I will see him there one day. My prayers are with his children and family.

Billy gave his time to make my brother Tony's last days in this world happier. Billy entertained family and friend's of Tony's with an unbelievable performance in an old barn in Gadsden County. Tony bought cd's and listened to Billy's music the remaining days of his life...Billy truely made a huge impact. Thanks Billy from all of the Hunter family, you will be missed.

Lori please know that we have you and your family in our prayers. Meeting Billy and yourself at Tootsies has enriched my life in so many different ways. I was fortunate to have a boyfriend that traveled to Panama City every three weeks to visit with you and Billy at Tootsies. You both will always be in our hearts and prayers. Thank you from all of Billys fans for the support and dedication only a wife can give to an entertainer and for allowing all of us to come to love you both. Billy will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

To Billy's Family,

We only knew Billy a short time as we were teammates on his bowling team at Bowlarama on Monday nights. We loved him right away, he was always fun and upbeat and encouraging. We could see that his relationship with his son Mitch was so important to him. They were so loving towards one another. He always had a smile on his face and nice things to say. Tonight is our last night bowling, and his absence will be felt. We will miss him always. Our hearts go out to your family and hope that the good memories and love of your family and friends will help ease the pain you are feeling. God Bless you all.

Billy, you will be missed. We grew up going to school together, even hunted together back in the day in the "lower woods". Over the past year, we were able to work together on stage, playin guitars and singing... way cool bro, I'll forever remember the good times. God bless you and your family.

Not very often do you meet a person and instantly know you will like him. Billy was one of those rare people. I meet him at Treasure Island Marina along with his sister Kim. The more you got to know him the better you liked him and then you found out everybody LOVED him.
We all will miss you Billy .
Look down on us and think about us around Shell Island.

I HAD THE PRIVILAGE OF PERFORMING WITH BILLY SEVERAL TIMES AT TOOTSIE'S AS HE ALWAYS WAS HAPPY TO SHARE HIS STAGE. NOW HE WILL HAVE HIS CHOICE OF MANY GREAT SINGERS WHO HAVE GONE ON BEFORE HIM....MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH HIS FAMILY.

Billy was good at everything he tried, but he was best at bringing people together and we are thankful that he brought us together with the Pierson/ Hudec family, as well as Barb and John. Lori and Kim, I love you both and I would not have that priviledge had it not been for Billy.
Billy loved the Lord and knew who his Savior was. He was quick to give thanks for his many blessings in life and to remark to Robbie, "could God have made a more beautiful creature" as though he were in awe, at the site of a big fish he just caught.
Our loss here on earth is God's gain in heaven and Billy is finally jammin' with Elvis and it's a battle to see who sings "Kentucky Rain" better. My money is on Billy.

Oh the times my daughters and I have spent on the dance floor as Billy played and sang his heart out. He knew exactly what songs they wanted to hear and so enjoyed watching them dance to his music. They were so tickled when Billy could even slip away from the stage and dance with them. Billy, many tears have been shed for you and I'm sure many more will be in the days to come. You and Lori touched our lives in an awesome way. We will keep dancing for you! Lori, know the girls and I are praying for you and your family.

Lori , Lisa & Cortney ,

I Love You All Soooo Much ! I am so sorry I cannot be there with you . I know it seems like the hurt and sadness will never go away but just take it day to day and deal with it how you need to deal with it . Always remember the good times and cherish them . I will forever cherish the July trip to WV and meeting Billy . And I will forever be thankful to him for putting a smile on my Mom's face by singing for her the songs she loved . Who would have thought 3 days later she would have been gone ? But that trip will be remembered forever , surrounded by family and so much fun !
You are in our hearts , our thoughts & prayers.

I have so many wonderful memories of my Uncle Billy. I still have a picture of him strumming on his guitar and me, just a little girl, singing along.

Although I hadn't seen him in a couple of years, I loved him very much and will miss him greatly.

I knew Billy both as an entertainer and as a fellow poker player. He was very good at both. As a poker player Billy was an aggressive player, but not the obnoxios guys you see around these days in that inviroment. He could beat you in a hand and make you feel like he was lucky. I always enjoyed being around Billy and will miss him dearly. God Bless you.
