To the Bob Dance Family -

Although we never met Bob Dance, we felt like we knew part of the family through the commercials over the years as we watched him, Buster, Buddy and most recently "his beautiful granddaughter" grow up before our eyes. It was very obvious he was a great family man, and after reading the obituary, very involved in the betterment of our communities. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Dance family as well as the employees of the Dance automobile industry. God Bless Bob Dance.

I purchased my first brand new P/U truck from Bob Dance Dodge when I was 19. That truck gave me a alot of memories and helped me travel around the US playing softball.
Everyone there was so nice and when Bob found out it was my first new truck, he donated money to our softball eam so we could play in a local tournament. Thanks Bob and your family. I never forgot what you did for me.
May God Bless you and keep your family safe during this difficult time.

To the Dance Family,

Please accept my condolences for the loss of your dear father, husband and friend. It seems as though Mr Dance lived a very good long life. Focusing on those memories can help you to cope in this difficult time. Although your pain may not easily disappear, prayer to God can be a source of great comfort. The Bible assures us that God is "healing the broken-hearted ones, and is binding up their painful spots."

Although it may come as a surprise, the Bible also teaches that it was never God's purpose that human lives be taken away, and soon you will see Mr Dance return to his younger days; "let his flesh become fresher than in youth; let him return to the days of his youthful vigor."

I pray that you receive the much needed strength to endure this time of sorrow.

Family and friends of Bob:

Sorry to hear of your loss. Treasured memories are flowing through my mind of the late 50's. The late night dragging on the bypass, now I 94. The weekends at Central Michigan dragway, Mt. Clemons, Toledo and Ocelo IN dragways. That Black Flamed Corvete. I can re-live them as if it were today.
You have my condolences, may he rest in peace.

I have known Bob for 40 + years back during his drag racing days. I was also a drag racer and an employee of Crane Cams at the time. I bought my first Z/28 Chevrolet Camaro from Bob at Indian River Chevrolet. Living in South Florida we didn't hear much about him but when we relocated to Daytona in 1987 we enjoyed his advertisements with his "Wonder Dog", and then later with his little grandaughter. We spoke from time to time and I can say Bob remained the same great guy I had met many years earlier. I was proud to call him my friend and will truly miss him.

I knew Bob Dance on Merritt Island Florida back in the 60's and 70's. Our family owned a Standard Oil gas staion on Merritt Island Florida and Bob would pull his race car up to our gas station on Saturday afternoon headed to the drags. He would have me fill the race car and his truck with gas and ask me to clean his windshield on the race car instead of the truck!!! What a nice person Bob was then and now and Sherri (my wife of 35 years) and I joined the Cape Kennedy Corvette Club in 2006. Bob came to a meeting and I was able to tell him about my memories of filling his race car tank and cleaning the windsheild on his race car when I was 9-10 years old. Bob sold my dad a 1965 Chevrolet Impala at Indian River Chevrolet when it was located on Florida Avenue in Cocoa Florida. Bob will be missed by all and what great memories we have of Bob Dance.

we had a family reunion in orlando this past weekend. one of our biggest topics of conversation was the passing of this funny, compationate man. we are all fla natives, and our whole lives we knew bob and buster the wonder dog would always be there. we have all purchased at least one car from his company because of his business ethics, and great salesmens attitude. im sure if in heaven any cars are needed, bob will be there to get them rollin.

The passing of Bob Dance, Husband, Father, Grandfather, this past week is a tremendous loss to many of us who knew Bob as a friend, customer or as a former competitor.

I knew Bob from his early beginnings when he started his automotive career in Brevard County selling Chevrolets before becoming Bob Dance Dodge. As a former Chrysler-Dodge dealer in the early 80’s myself, Bob helped me make the decision to become a dealer in Lake County. Many years have passed since that time but I know that Bob will be remembered for a very long time in the future.

Bob and I shared the joys of having our children and families involved in our business lives. Our sympathy goes out to his entire family and to all of those who knew Bob. Over these many years he touched many lives and he will be sorely missed.

It is with fondest memories that I reflect back on the lives that Bob touched. I had the pleasure of working with Bob, not only at the Longwood store, but even further back to the days at Jim Rathmann Chev and Sunshine Dodge.
He was not only a great boss, but a wonderful friend. He was always giving to the community, and was also a soft touch for anyone down on their luck. I feel truly blessed to have known him.

To the Dance Family, I knew Bob in the 1950s and we raced together at the Stanton Michigan Strip. He was a good friend and although we both went our seperate ways in the early 60s I always remembered his racing abilitys. He could make a slow car win. Lee Kelley

I first met Bob in March 1971 when he was just starting his long career with Dodge in Melbourne, FL at Riverside Dodge. During that time the famous declaration of "Where Everyody Rides" was born and it stayed with him for life. As an employee of Chrysler Corporation I was one of the first field reps to call on him and our relationship continued for the rest of my career with Chrysler. Even after my retirement, we continued to be in touch from time to time as late as the last couple of months. Bob leaves behind an outstanding reputation in Central Florida as an avid promoter and a very strong presence in the retail automotive business. Bob was one of a kind who will surely be missed. I saw and admired a giving spirit in Bob, especially with his family and close friends, which was a consistent part of him. I know his large family and friends are suffering great grief right now over their loss. It's my prayer and hope for those left behind...that our great God will grant them peace... that peace that only he can provide... the peace that passes all understanding... in the name above all names... Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
