I didn't know Chris well, but he became a friend to my granddaughter, Blair Meeks, while performing with the Silver Regiment Band. We made special trips to Publix just to say hello. He was an outstanding young man and will be missed by everyone who knew him. He touched many lives. I cannot find the words to console you, or to ease the ache in your heart, but know that you are in my thoughts and my prayers.

To Susie,
Chris was a good friend to my daughter, Mallory, in high school. Chris was a frequent visitor to my home during their time in the Silver Regiment, and I'll never forget his contagious smile and his faithfulness as a friend and a son. I especially remember the day he, Bjorn, and other friends brought Mallory a baby chick and duck at Easter! Kathy Rexroad

He was a great guy, a friendship I will forever cherish! I am so glad I was able to share just a little amount of time with him...b/c I found out just how amazing of a guy he was! He will forever be in my heart and will always be missed by so many! Chris impacted so many lives, mine being one of them!! My prayers are with you. May God bless you in your time of need and may God rest Chris' soul for he is safely home now!

Dear Susie and Family,
When I heard the tragic news I couldn't believe my ears. I have known Chris since Kindergarten at Eastbrook and grew up around the block from him. We spent just about everyday together throughout elementary and part of middle school. I went home last night and looked through all the little gifts he had given me every Valentines Day since I was 5. I never knew exactly why I had kept them until last night. He was the most kind, forgiving and generous man I have ever known. I will forever cherish those gifts and I hope that one day my daughter too will make a lifelong friend as special as Chris. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in your time of need.

Susie and Family,
I went to school with your brother John and I knew you as well. I actually, have come back to the old neightborhood to live. My Dad,Carl Wiley, spoke of what a nice young man Chris was and how thougtful and patient he was when he was shopping at Publix. Chris introduced himself to me ,and I remember thinking, you could tell he was a "Gustafson"...your whole family was always very kind and friendly.Qualities that Chris ,certainly, exhibited with others.
My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. I send you prayers of strength and healing.

Dear Susie:
I'm not sure if you remember me, but I knew Chris since Eastbrook. I am so very sorry, and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. When my family and I heard about the accident, we were thinking back to when Chris and I were in kindergarten through 2nd grade. And he was my boyfriend = ) And later on in life we had classes together and worked at Publix together. Those are the memories I will keep with me. And I know you have many of your own, to help you through this time.

This is so hard, and so unbelievable. The only class I made since this happened, my English class, (we were discussing Dickinson)we had a writing assignment to write things we would want to be remembered for if we were to die right at tht moment. So close to your passing, this was extremely hard. But I thought of you and how you would meet people for the first time and you treated them as they had never been a stranger, that they were already a cherished friend. It was a quality I deeply admired. Every conversation and every place you were you treated as... as though if you had to choose... it was the only place you would choose to be. You would be hard pressed to find someone that could forget you, you seem to have touched every life you ever met. Thank you, for touching our lives, and for being a part of our family. We shall never forget the bright light that faded too soon.
