Dena Kane Obituary

Dena M. Kane, 74, of Gainesville, ended her battle with cancer and joined her loved ones already in Heaven on Thursday, March 29, 2001. She will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched through her generosity and thoughtfulness. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and kind loving heart. She embraced others with her nuturing spirit and never ending support and guidance. Dena left the following prayer which beautifully expresses her beliefs. She wished it to be of comfort to all of us at this time. SAFELY HOME I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly Trod the valley of the shade? Oh! But Jesus' love illumined Every dark and fearful glade. And He came himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread; And with Jesus' arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still: Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's Will. Dena is preceded in death by her son, Keith Kane; Survivors include sister, Glena Nash and Husband Slade and their children; Son Jeff Kane; Daughters, Leila Kane Dickey and husband Bill, Kriss Kane Stephens; 'Adopted' daughters, Diane Gallagher and Linda Imms; Grandchildren, John Kane and fiancee' Charrise, Jeanne Stewart, Scott Stephens, Andrew Bott, Lauren Dickey and Alex Dickey; Special friend Shirley Dolan, as well as innumerable friends, acquaintances and loved ones. We rejoice that she is free. Memorial Service is Pending.
