Elida Mancl Obituary

MANCL, ELIDA NELSON, 94, of Windermere, died on October 11, 2003. She was born to the late John G. and Emma Caroline Nelson, in Chicago, IL on February 21, 1909. She lived in the Chicago area until 1961, when she and her family moved to Deland, FL. Following the death of her husband, she spent her summers in the Kewadin-Elk Rapids area of Michigan and her winters in Windermere, FL. Her husband, Alois Paul Mancl, predeceased her in 1973. She is survived by her daughters, E. June McLachlan (Robert), Leesburg, FL and Carolyn Cappleman Karraker (Donald), Windermere, FL; sister, Linnea Wandrey, Titusville, FL; grandchildren Karen McLachlan Lamb (Chuck Carlson), Tarpon Springs, FL, Candy McLachlan Western (Dirk), Key Largo, FL, Lawrence Eugene Cappleman, III, Seattle, WA, Holt McLean Cappleman, Orlando, FL; great-grandchildren Kevin Lamb, Keri Lamb, Robert Western, Teresa Quetone, and Madison Bumford; great-great- grandchildren Xavier, Zeke, and Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews. While still living in Chicago, she was the first food demonstrator for both the Campbell Food and Wesson Oil Companies; she and her late husband owned McVicars Gift Shop in Deland, FL; and she was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church, Oakland, FL. Memorial service will be held on October 18, at 11AM at Oakland Presbyterian Church, 218 East Oakland Ave., Oakland, FL. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Memorial Fund at Oakland Presbyterian Church, PO Box 38, Oakland, FL 34767.
