My prayers for the entire Khoury family. My name is Douglas Hamatie, I am the son of Fr. John & Monique Hamatie, of Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, of Orlando, Florida. Just this morning, (Tuesday, April 16th) I heard of this tragedy. I have been traveling for work, and am not in Orlando, had I been in town, I would have offered my prayers and been there with your family. I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ, be with your family, in this tragic time. I've known your family for many years, and my heart is with you. Allah Yeearh Hamou. God Almighty, I ask that you be with the Khoury family, especially the parents, and grandparents, as they need your extra love at this time of loss, and sadness. He is in Jesus' Heavenly Kingdom; your entire family is in my prayers and again, my sincere condolences,
Douglas George Hamatie

Khoury family,
Elie was a wonderful young man in my 8th grade history class at Sanford Middle. He was a hard worker who added alot to the class. He could find the balance between hard work and fun. I always appreciated his good character and upbeat personality which made him well liked by his classmates. I'm praying for your family that God will hold you, comfort and sustain you through not only these difficult days but in the months and years to come as you learn to live without your precious son and brother.

I didn't know you at all but I have heard your name several times through out this past weekend. I heard how great of a kid you were & how much you had going for you. It's so unfortunate that you had to go in such a terrible way but we all know that you are in a better place. I've been praying for your family & even wrote your name on a prayer request card at church. I know everyone will miss you very much, especially since everyone has nothing but good things to say about you :)

Elie was probably the funniest kid from 8th grade. I remember in Language Arts we had to do some story about survival. What that turn to is Mr. Roger's fighting against sand in the desert (all Elie's idea). I even remember what he wrote in my Yearbook. "Have a holly jolly Christmas, it's the best time of the year". Funny because it was in the dead heat of Summer. I'll miss him, he had so many things going for him in his future: A good comedian, a good student, but most of all a good friend. I pray every day for his family and I know without any doubt in my mind he is in a better place.

Dear Khoury Family,
I am a student at Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia. I am from Sanford Florida and a Seminole High school alumni (class of 2007) I am member of Westview Baptist Church in Sanford. I personally did not know your son, but friends of mine in the youth group at Westview did. Most importantly, I lost my brother in a violent car accident the day after his 17th Birthday on the way to school. I know exactly what you are going through and there is no word to describe the pain you are going through because I remember the agony of my brothers death. I just wanted your family to know that I am praying for you. I do not know if you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ but I want you to know that Christ Jesus is the one who got me through the death of my brother. Have faith in Christ and he will never leave you! God Bless your family!
