Herman Heidrich Obituary
JOSEPH "JOE" died peacefully on Oct 29, 2010 after a courageous fight with cancer. Born Jan 29, 1951 in Orlando, Joe was the fifth of 12 children and second son of Francis X. and Doris M. Heidrich. He grew up in Winter Park, attended St. Margaret Mary Church and School, Bishop Moore High School and St. Joseph Prep in Bardstown, Ky. As a boy, Joe lived life to the fullest on Lake Maitland: water skiing, fishing, exploring, and boating with his 11 silblings. As an adult, Joe worked side by side with his father in the citrus and peach industries; growing, packing, and selling fruit. Special in Joe's adult life was his beloved and devoted wife of 26 years, Joanne, who was, in his words, his "raison d'etre,", the rock who kept him grounded. Joe is survived by his wife, Joanne; his father, Francis X. Heidrich, Sr. and stepmother, Rachel; brothers Frank, David, Michael (Amy), and
Christopher; sisters Anne
Diebel-Lane (Jim Lane), Patty,
Dorie Hardrick (Allen), Beth
Rich (Jonathan), Lucy Burbridge (Mike), and Mary Frances, 33 nieces and nephews, 40 great-nieces and nephews, a bounty of cousins, and treasured friends. Joe was preceded in death by his mother,
Doris, and sister, Mary Lynn Harper. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Nov 6, 2010 at St. Margaret Mary Church, 526 North Park Avenue, Winter Park. For a full obituary and photos please see www.carey-handcox.com and click on Heidrich, H.J. on right side.

Joe always made me feel so special and it was so genuine. What a beautiful Saturday on his lake.I am so grateful for sharing that with Joe and the family. I will never forget it. I know Doris, Lynn, and Chet were there to lead him through the gates, a great comfort to everyone. God Bless Joanne and all the family that took such loving care.

Wow. Joe, I hope you can "see" all of these special messages. We'll talk about them one of these days. No doubt you touched many lives in many wonderful ways. Personally, it was a great relief to have you and Paul for immediate friends when I moved from Indiana and started 7th grade at SMM. Thanks for that friendship and especially the laughs... like the one you gave us when you tried to use that ski jump, that you and Paul built, for the first time. Uncle Joe, Everything I ever saw from you was in abundance. Kindness,love,caring,protecting,compassion,and giving. You are the Uncle I recall spending the most time with growing up. I loved to come see you right away when we got to the packing house. You hide me from so many practical jokes...from Papa & Grandpa! You showed such courage, never heard you complain once. You are all a brother could ask for Joe. You will be of course greatly missed, but more greatly remembered by all of your family and friends. You were all inspiring to me Joe but never so much than how you dealt with that dreadful disease. You were beyond courageous in that fight. I miss you sooo much. Yoseph, you were so incredibly pleasant throughout your entire struggle. It is that characteristic that always separated you from the mob. Your appreciation for life and your experiences is an inspiration to we all. Your love for family had no bounds; you were always there when needed, especially for your three younger brothers. I always loved visiting you at the packing house while growing up and listening to "your words of wisdom"!
