Jacob Holliday Obituary

HOLLIDAY, JACOB CHRISTIAN, age 4, went home to our Lord on October 20, 2005. "Super Jake" came into this world on August 17, 2001, with a congenital heart defect that required open heart surgery. Eight months later Jacob required a heart transplant. Following his transplant, Jacob grew into a beautiful boy, blessing those that met him with his sweet personality and sensitive soul. He preferred quiet activities to the rough and tumble that young boys often liked. He loved reading stories, playing with Playdoh, coloring, and painting with watercolors. He loved to swing at the playground and recently played in his first soccer game. But most of all, Jake loved Thomas the Tank Engine. He knew everything about Thomas and his friends, possessing uncanny attention to details regarding the trains and the island of Sodor. Jacob's last fight was with a form of cancer known as PTLD. He passed away, surrounded by family, at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, TN. Jacob is survived by his parents, Rob and Patty (Wills) Holliday, brother Luke and sister Claire of Longwood; grandparents Phil and Sue Holliday of Plano, TX and Doug and Becky Wills of Omaha, NE; great grandparents Bob and Jane Holliday of Lubbock, TX, and Barbara Burke of Prescott Valley, AZ; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services for our Superman will be held at 3PM, Saturday, October 29, 2005, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 700 Rinehart Road, Lake Mary.

He's in another realm and you'll see him again. What a courageous little soul, he came into the world to enrich the lives of others. I have my own little courageous boy still with me. Rejoice in his life. Special people get special kids.
