I remember Jim as a young boy many years ago at his grandmother Irt's in Mississippi. I never knew him after we grew up except through his mom's updates when I saw her. I deeply regret that we never got to know each other as grown men, and I send my deepest sympathy to Mona and all Jim's family. May God be with you at this time of sorrow.

Dear Dani and Will,
I just learned of Jim's untimely passing. My thoughts and prayers are naturally with you both as you must go through the painful acceptance of Jim no longer being with you.
My heart aches for your loss. I can't help but think back over the few years that I knew Jim. I add my name to that long list of people who respected him and enjoyed spending time with him. He was a quiet, gentle soul, but his strength in character was always obviously present.
As I think over past years, I recall fondly many separate experiences as Jim either lived with or visited with me and my family in Casselbery or in Oviedo. There was absolutely no time that he did not share a kind word, or a quiet smile, regardless of the sitation.
Knowing Jim created some wonderful memories that I will always hold dear. I hope you get a small glimpse of just how much he will be missed by many. May God be with you and comfort you.

Our prayers are with you and your family. Jim was one of the nicest and kindest people I ever had the opportunity to meet. It was a privilege to know him.

I spent 10 years working with Jim. He lived in my house, we shared boats, cars, tents and cabins over the years, and created memories that I will always treasure.
In my job I teach many of the skills that he and I learned together, both working and playing, and in almost every class I will share one or more of the stories in which he played a part.
I regret that I didn't tell him what part he continues to play in my life when I had the chance.
Jim was honorable, generous and gentle natured, always a joy to talk with, or just to share the silence with.
I already miss him greatly.
Dany and Will, remember him with joy and pride.

Once while fishing with Jim my reel kept back lashing. Jim said I needed to use a Lews reel. Then he gave me one. That's the way he was. The shirt off his back for anyone. I'm really going to miss him. Mike Dickson

Dany & Will,
I can't even comprehend what you're dealing with right now, but my deepest sympathy is with you both.
I have many fond memories, as a kid, coming over to play with Jim around. I even remember him taking us to "The Last Starfighter"!
It's been awhile, but if either of you need anything.. just ask!

When you work with someone for 3 to 4 years and also spend a lot of time fishing with them, you get to know the real person pretty well. I always respected and admired Jim's humble nature. Since I met him in 1973, I never heard him say a negative thing about another person. God bless Jim, his family, and loved ones.

I feel honored that I had the chance to know Jim. The hour we spent fishing together, the trips to Okeechobee, and the heavy end of the sofa he always had me carry. He will truely be missed. Please accept my deepest sympathies and know that my thoughs and prayers are with you !
