Jeff and I went to American Heritage together for many years. He was a great example of someone who did not let adversity keep him from living a meaningful life. We will miss you my friend

I am deeply sadden by the lost of a great person and friend. I grew up with Jeff, we shared our hopes and dreams. Though we lost touch when the Capps moved away, but my prayers remembered my fun loving friend. I am proud that Jeff was able to reach his dreams of being married and graduate from UF. My fondest moments was listening to his dreams of being a star fighter in a galaxy unknown or doctor in Sport Medicine. My condolences goes out to his family.
I can't say good-bye, but see you in Heaven.

Vann and Peggy, I was out of town and received a call when I returned telling me about Jeff. I was so sorry to hear the news. He was such a brave young man. When I think of him, I remember his smile, how happy he was the day he got his drivers and how excited he was at the graduation party you had for him at your home. He was awsome and you two were wonderful supportive parents. The two of you, Kim and Jeff are in my thoughs and prayers.

I met Jeff through his mom, Peggy, and she and I have spent endless hours bragging about our children. Peggy speaks often of her pride and her love for her son...her baby boy...her Jeffrey. I am so sorry for the pain the family is going thru. I never met you Susie, but I've read your entry and send my deepest condolances to you as well. You certainly did have a wonderful husband. His time on earth was too short for a man who had so many dreams to fulfill. God Bless his soul and may he keep all of Jeff's family in his care.

Jeff was a great man and seeing him with a smile was so matter of fact, that on the rare occasions when it was missing - it was memorable. I was lucky enough to go to high school with Jeff and then to see him again at the University of Florida.

I had forgotten that Jeff was going to UF (he was a year ahead of me) and was walking near GPA when I heard, "Hey Fred!" I looked, and it was Jeff, with a huge smile on his face; he said simply, "Go Gators."

It was a great welcome for me to Gainesville, and is exactly how I wish to remember Jeff -- with a big smile and an even bigger heart.

Rest in Peace, Jeff. (and Go Gators)

When I read his wife's entry, the words "pure of heart" is what sticks out in my memory of Jeff Capps. I would always call him Jazzy Jeff and I also have not seen him in years, but memories of him are in all of our hearts forever. He was a true angel for God. One memory that I will never forget is when the BCM had talent show night. He was playing this grandpa and he was at a Gator game with his son. They were sitting up in the end zone and just howling at the Gators. I will never forget one of Jeff's lines when he looked down at the end zone and told his son it said SROTAG...of course Gators backwards...I have thought of that line everyday and still laugh as hard as ever. Jeff-get to running my brother...watch over all of us. Love you bro.

Jeff was my roommate for 1 year at UF. I learned so much about living your life to the fullist from him. He was an inspiration to me, a huge sports fan and just an awesome guy. I haven't seen him in well over 10 years, but I've never forgotten him. Jeff, you will be missed. God bless.

Words can’t express what Jeff meant to me and how much I love him. He was a true gift from God to me. Jeff loved the Lord and blessed me by being the spiritual leader of our home. He was my very best friend and confidant, the absolute, unequivocal love of my life. He was forgiving, merciful, gracious, kind and patient with me when I needed it most. When I lost hope or courage, he was always there uplifting me, giving me the strength and encouragement I needed to go on. I especially loved Jeff’s sensitivity and tender-heartedness. He wasn’t afraid to express his emotions, to shed tears, to be vulnerable and transparent. Jeff was always just what I needed – with the exception of being a back-seat driver. (Who knows…maybe I needed one.) Jeff and I had a special closeness in our marriage, and he could always tell when something was bothering me, often times even before I realized it myself. We could communicate without saying a word. Each one of us usually knew what the other one was thinking or feeling. Jeff had the purest heart of anyone I have ever known. He was pure in heart, mind and soul. When I think of Jeff, I think of love as it’s defined in I Corinthians 13:4-7:

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."

Jeff was the embodiment of the love of Christ. No one ever had to do anything to earn his love; he always gave it freely without conditions.

Jeff wouldn’t want us to be sad for him right now, because he’s in heaven with a perfect body walking on streets of gold. He always told me that when he gets to heaven, he’s gonna run. I’m sure that he’s running right now.

Jeff, I love you with my whole heart, and I will miss you every single day of my life. I thank God for bringing you into my life and for the power of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ that promises us we will be reunited someday and spend eternity together. You are the love of my life.
