Mr. and Mrs. Karlberg,

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Joey. I was his 8th grade Math teacher at Tuskawilla Middle School and that was my first year of teaching. Joey was such a wonderful boy. He had such a wonderful (and impish) personality! After all these years I can still see him frozen in time as a 14 year old boy full of life.

Warmly,

I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Joey. He was such a sweet guy as a childhood friend and adult. He was a very big part of growing up in English Estates - we all used to converge to the Karlberg's yard after school for games of kick the can and other yard games. It was a pure and innocent time when kids could run and play in the safety of their neighborhood - I have very fond memories of that time and Joey was always the ring leader of the neighborhood crew. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Joe and Pat,

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Both of you and Joey have been friends with our family for so long. Joey was such a delightful person and he will be missed by so many. It is so hard to lose a child and the loss may seem like more than you can bear but God is our comfort. Let us know if we can help in any way. We truly understand your great loss having gone through it ourselves with the loss of our Jerry.

You are truly in our hearts and we will keep you in our prayers.

Mr. and Mrs. Karlberg,

In this time of deep sorrow please try to find the light of joy in the way that Joey lived his life to the fullest and made the most of everything involved in living: work, leisure, fun, family, and friendship. He will definitely be missed, but he has made so many memories for all of us that he will always hold a place in our hearts.

With much respect,

Eddie Norton

Mr. & Mrs. Karlberg - I learned from my sister today that Joey passed away. I write this with shock and disbelief that you lost yet another son. I simply can't imagine your pain and sorrow at this time. I grew up with your family while we lived on Castlewood. My fondest memories of Joey are when Holly Hilyard and I would drag him into her garage and try to kiss him! He would kick and scream at us to stop but we never would! I also remember all those fun games of kick-the-can with the neighborhood kids and Joey would always find me and tag me out! I had such a mad crush on him during those fun childhood days. You have my prayers and sympathy during this most difficult time.

To Joe's parents: I am SO sorry to hear about Joe. I am his neighbor of 5 years and he was always so willing to help me out. He helped me get back into my condo when I locked myself out and the condo is upstairs! He helped me charge my boat battery, gave me plants and always offered his services. I couldn't have asked for a better neighbor and I will miss him alot!He watched out for me like a brother. I fed him and Chase dinner at times and on holidays when he was home. Joe had a big good heart and God will reward him for that. I will miss him tremendously.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Karlberg,

I so very sorry for your loss. It's been sometime that I've spoken to Joey but my last vists with him in 1994 were wonderful with all the turkey hunting we did out in Lake County. I offer to you my deepest condolences.

Regards,

I have known Joe and his entire family since 1972. I met him while fishing in a neighborhood pond and he, his brother Mike and I became best of friends. I will always remember all the fishing and hunting adventures and misadventures that we were on together. He will be sorely missed by me and my family; as has his brother Mike. I already miss him!

No words seem to be appropriate, just know that you have my thoughts and prayers with you every day. It doesn't seem fair that you must endure another tragedy such as this but I know your faith in God will get you thru the painful days that follow. My deepest sympathy are with you and your family.

Love Always,
